I’m actually a a fan of Massad, but you have to be a special kind of really, really stupid to think gun permits are going to stop one criminal from carrying a gun.
It’s not to stop criminals. He wants every armed citizen to know what they’re doing so they don’t do something stupid. He supports the permitting process so as to at least get some good info in front of people.
His position on ccw regs has nothing to do with outright criminality.
