There is Switzerland and then there is Switzerland.
As a curious side note, my nephew is German Swiss on his father’s side and French Swiss on his mother’s (my sister) side. His German Swiss relatives settled in East Tennessee about 75 years before the French Swiss came. Strangely believe it but the mountains and valleys of east Tennessee closely resemble the part of Switzerland from which they fled
I know very little about the current protestant situation in Switzerland but doubt if they still have such religious animosity within families

Before I hurt my foot two years ago I was riding a mountain bike trail that is 8 miles round trip. I would ride it twice. I was feeling really proud of myself one day and while taking a break this little old lady (think 70’s) came walking by. She stopped to talk and rest. She was wearing a back pack and walking in big clunky boots. While talking she told me she hiked that trail every day, the whole 8 miles. I was REALLY impressed. She had an accent so I asked her where she was from and how she was able to walk that far that often.
She said she was born and raised in the French Alps and spent her younger years hiking and traipsing around in the Alps on foot. They had a farm there and she spent a lot of time tending her animals. When she immigrated to East Tennessee she kept hiking the mountains and any trail she could find.
Shortly after that I hurt my foot and haven’t been back on the trail but I bet she’s still at it.
I dID pretty good two threads in a row getting in way before Fiddy in both, but last night I went to bed early because I have ELSA churning up TOWARDS me and I have a bad feeling bout the forecast. A troubled spirit I have .Anyways I am here now an off to buy some supplies! Blessings Ransomenote! and the rest of us Freaqs on here

Our neighborhood was alive with booms until the wee hrs. for several days. Things were a bit calmer tonight.

Our son’s neighborhood is the same way. Usually a couple of days before and a couple of days after.
