The young midshipman needed a date one evening while he was home from the U.S. Naval Academy, so his younger sister paired him with a family friend who already had a crush.
Nearly eight decades later, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter are still together in the same tiny town where they were born, grew up and had that first outing. In between, they’ve traveled the world as Naval officer and military spouse, American president and first lady, and finally as human rights and public health ambassadors.
“It’s a full partnership,” the 39th president told The Associated Press during a joint interview ahead of the couple’s 75th wedding anniversary on July 7. […]
The nonagenarians — she’s now 93 — offered a few other tips for an enduring bond.
“Every day there needs to be reconciliation and communication between the two spouses,” the former president said, explaining that he and Rosalynn, both devout Christians, read the Bible together aloud each night — something they’ve done for years, even when separated by their travels. “We don’t go to sleep with some remaining differences between us,” he said. …

If only the good die young this grinning monster is going to live forever.
Now you hurt my feelings.

>>It’s all over the tv now. Not just movies, but regular tv, commercials and so on.
Indoctrination.<<
One of my guilty pleasures is (was) the Hallmark Channel - specifically the Christmas Movies (I keep a checklist of clichés to make them more fun) and the show “The Good Witch” with the lovely Catherine Bell.
Now, THC has been rightly accused of being whiter than Martin Mull so I can see when they started including stars from the ethnic spectrum (although Asians continue to be The Best Friend and rarely the star). No problem, they behave the same way no matter race or ethnicity and plug in to the story just fine (like heir favorite token Holly Robinson Pete).
Then in 2018 or so they made what seems the be a hard and fast rule. Unless the boss is a parent of one our main protagonists or antagonists it is ALWAYS a black woman in her 40s/50s. I think they have only 3 actresses that play this role in the dozens now that adhere to the rule. Talk about tokenism. They also tossed in a gay couple but it was a friend of a friend thing and almost off camera (no kissing thank God). I am really afraid of what the next crop will bring.
Then on The Good Witch, they introduce an OBVIOUS lezzie relationship. The really bad part is it is tacked on and meaningless to the plot or any character arcs. It is like “hey, we need gay to shut up the sjws.” We no longer watch it and I hope it crashes and burns.
When THC is no longer family safe, there is no refuge.
If you honestly worship them to the extent of denying the obvious, you’re beyond help.
No, the Carters do not believe the teachings of the Baptist Church. Attending a church that they disagree with does not make them devout members of that church. They support abortion, homosexual behavior, forced euthanasia, the destruction of the family unit, Marxism, and many more of Satan’s lies. That’s not what a devout Baptist is.
They do agree with the Baptist church they belong to
Oh yes, go from respecting 75 years of marriage to “worship.” Yeah, that’s quite a leap.
What would cause a person to make such a conclusion? Are you simple?
Jimmy Carter: Good afternoon, everybody. I’m afraid that since the army clothing engineers have been unable to fit me with a giant loincloth, I’ll have to adress you through this window. First, let me say that this experience has not changed my committment to nuclear power, nor do I believe that my enourmous size will in any way limit my abilities to perfrom my duties in my office. However, this will mean some changes in my personal life. Rosalyn, I hate to spring this on you this way, but I’d like to introduce you all to my future wife and my next first lady. She was a widow, and, until recently, a maintainance worker here at Two Mile Island. Miss Violet Crawford.
Violet: Hi, everybody. As First Lady, I’d like to say I have nothing against nuclear power, honey. It’s the best thing that ever happened to me.
There is no such thing as a Baptist Church which denies the Word of God. There is no such thing as a Christian who denies the Word of God. You cannot make sin holy by lying about the source of the sin. You cannot be a Baptist or any other denomination of Christian, by lying and claiming to be one, while devoting your life to fighting against the very principles of Christianity.
You may not like the word, but you’re worshiping them to the extent of denying what you know in your heart is true. 75 years of dedicating themselves to separating America from God is not something to be worshiped.
agree
No honor for traitors
Yup!
These two are despicable destroyers of everything decent in this country! Are you so blind to not see the damage they have done? I pray people just wake the heck up! It needs to happen now!
BS! Devout communists!
Amen
You give praise that is not deserved. Then want agreement from others! You have a problem. Others see the reality.
Well said.
