Is Your Teenager Secretly A Libertarian? 9 Warning Signs To Look For (Bee strikes again)

It's every parent's worst nightmare: your kid comes out as a libertarian. Don't worry -- we can help you nip it in the bud. You should be closely involved in your teen's life to make sure he doesn't suddenly start believing in freedom and personal responsibility. Make sure to constantly check for these 9 warning signs:

1. You walk into his room late at night and he frantically tries to hide the video he's watching: Ron Paul's Liberty Report. - Caught red-handed.

2. He asks for his allowance in Bitcoin. - Dogecoin can also be a red flag.

3. He screams, "AM I BEING DETAINED!?" when you ask him to come downstairs for dinner. - Also during detention, when you make him go to the grocery store with you, and pretty much anytime anyone asks him to do anything.

4. You check under his mattress and sure enough, he's been hiding the worst thing imaginable: a copy of Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell. - Talk to your kids about Sowell before it's too late.

5. While his schoolmates are shooting each other in Call of Duty, he's plinking targets from 150 yards with his AR-15 - He's only interested in the real thing.

6. You catch him texting girls "Taxation is theft." - Always check your kids' electronic devices so you can be alerted to these telltale signs of libertarianism.

7. He plays Grand Theft Auto but spends the whole time ranting about police violence against him for flying a military helicopter around Los Santos. - "I thought this was AMERICA."

8. You get a call from school that he got thrown out of economics class again for arguing with his teacher about the unsustainability of the U.S. Dollar and the failure of Keynesian economics. - Trouble at school might mean he's been radicalized by the Austrian school of economics. Not good!

9. He has no friends. - This is perhaps the surest sign of all.

Number 10: You get a call from the FBI stating your son has been placed on a terrorist watch list and must surrender his firearms.

at this stage of history, where it seems that Dominion controls our elections, there seems little reason to invest in the normal political process and hope to push back on the left via electing “good Republicans”.

if you take a longer view of history, however, and see that what has been lost is not the political skirmish but any notion that freedom is a fundamental human good....then, the whole liberty movement including the LP seems to be a rational investment of time and effort.

I’m not sure that investing in a no compromise philosophically based “agenda” isn’t the path to a renewed future....a distant future, for sure. And probably not a realistic future, save for something almost apocalyptic.

But the foundations of liberty have to be rebuilt and that is part of the whole liberty movement’s modus operandi. I’d have to say, I sort of find that attractive.....stolen elections have consequences and the brazenness an bipartisan nature of what they did basically ended that phase of American history.

So...next up? Maybe liberty will have a chance of we dig deep enough, educate and inspire enough, network enough, etc.

The anarchist subgroup of libertarian are very communistic, quite right.....in reading up on some things like “aesthetics and libertarianism” you find all sorts of weird things like “all hierarchy in art” must be destroyed, which is sort of like saying, we have to disempower individuals from pursuing what they like.....the very opposite of liberty.

the conservative libertarian subgroup is naturally inclined to let hierarchies emerge in whatever realm of human endeavor they emerge in....it’s just a big whatever. hierarchies that emerge in a liberty-minded system probably deserve to be there, and they will only last as long as particpants affirm them (sort of the nature of liberty)

in any event, yes, though counterintuitive, there are a few subroups of Maoists in the broa category of “libertarian”

If a kid even knows who Thomas Sowell is, that is a sure sign.

Rand had a low gravelly voice. Niel has a high whiny and annoying voice.

I don't see the influence.

Yeah I am kind of lost without a truly righteous party right now. As a true Constitutional Conservative I was always pissed at the Communist left, Then came the Neocons, and the republican religious groups who support leftist ideology in the name of “compassion”, which is of course a false compassion from the left. So it drove me to Libertarianism, and now even they are supporting the leftist ideology.

I did register republican so that I could vote for Trump but I cannot go all in with the same double standards that they also practice while cussing at the left for doing it. True honest Constitutional conservatism is getting rare in all parties.

Even the hard right practice hypocrisy and double standards, especially with the “Live and let live” philosophy and respecting the bill of rights for “individuals as equal”. So I am at the point I support what is just and right no matter the source, but in turn I cannot turn my head away from what is not just or right no matter the source.

Right now the bad outweighs the good in all parties. No self judgement before judging others. Clowns to the left of me and jokers to the right. And there is no middle available to get stuck in.

Unfortunately I could be excommunicated or burned at the stake for being honest and sharing what I said...

Being honest is not very popular or respected anymore either... :)

He wasn't stealing, he was only borrowing it, and anyway his parents' tax money paid for it...

They will never be an influence because they are scatter brained and will never agree on anything amongst themselves.

Kinda like Republicans.

While true, this is to a different degree. At least there are a few common goals with republicans, The whole concept of Libertarianism is to have absolutely no goals in common.

I can name dozens of nationally recognized republicans who are against both of those goals.

The Dems never break ranks.

Of course. I was talking about the voters, and you are right... “nationally recognized republicans” are almost all turncoats against their own voter base. They do the opposite of what the voters want.

And you are also right, Dems never break ranks. That is why we are getting our asses handed to us. But neither are as bad as the Libertarian party when it comes to agreeing on a common goal or two.

Used too, not anymore... It is disorganized Chaos. And I am saying this as a long time Libertarian.
