• The CDC's COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Technical Work Group said Wednesday that there is a 'likely link' between rare heart inflammation and vaccines
• The announcement prompted the FDA to add a warning to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines  
• The group noted vaccination with the Pfizer and Moderna shots in adolescents and young adults is notably higher after the second dose and in males 
• So far, 484 cases have been reported out of 90.6 million doses, which means the risk occurs in 0.000534% of young adults
• Both Pfizer and Moderna say they have not identified an association with the heart inflammation cases and their vaccines

The US Food and Drug Administration will add a warning to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines after the CDC said there is a 'likely link' between them and rare cases of heart inflammation in teenagers and young adults. 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made the announcement Wednesday during a presentation. 

The COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Technical (VaST) Work Group discussed nearly 500 reports of the heart inflammation, known as myocarditis, in vaccinated adults under age 30.

B) The document in your link states that only 152 of the death certificates listing COVID-19 as the cause of death were filled out by doctors working for the government’s criminal investigations units. That’s a tiny subset of the people authorized to fill out death certificates in Portugal.

Pilots undergo medical examinations every year.
This exam includes the heart, eyesight, hearing, brain, and so on.
From a certain age, the health check must be carried out every 6 months. It is very unlikely that these pilots had any previous illness. Incidentally, many Indian pilots also died recently!

You’re a doctor, and you administer the 1st does of the Covid vaccine to an 18 year-old male patient. He suffers acute myocarditis as a result. He eventually recovers.

Do you administer the 2nd dose of the vaccine knowing his reaction to the 1st dose and knowing that adverse effects are often more pronounced with the 2nd dose?

That would depend on a whole host of factors including the patient’s medical history, family medical history, and the precise clinical presentation of the myocarditis in that individual.

I’ll ping some great doctors here in case they’d like to chime in with a more thoughtful analysis, but I will say your question is certainly interesting.
