UFO report: Government can't explain 143 of 144 mysterious flying objects

The U.S. government can't explain 143 of the 144 cases of unidentified flying objects reported by military planes, according to a highly anticipated intelligence report released Friday.

[snip]

"In a limited number of incidents, UAP reportedly appeared to exhibit unusual flight characteristics. These observations could be the result of sensor errors, spoofing, or observer misperception and require additional rigorous analysis," the report said.

The report does not mention aliens or even vaguely hint at an extraterrestrial explanation for the reported sightings, but makes clear that much of the phenomena may be beyond the existing means the government has to identify such objects.

[snip]

A senior U.S. government official said ahead of the report's release Friday that, "We have no clear indications that there is any nonterrestrial explanation for them — but we will go wherever the data takes us."

The official added: “We do not have any data that indicates that any of these unidentified air phenomena are part of a foreign collection program nor do we have any data that is indicative of a major technological advancement by a potential adversary."

I’m really hoping they are evidence of a technicaly advanced alien culture. If they got to this planet using advanced technology far beyond our current technology, they could have certainly destroyed us or taken over. They haven’t. In fact they seem to more go out of their way to maintain a low profile.

The most likely explanation, if they’re aliens, is they’re intellectually curious about us and are studying us as we might study penguins or chimpanzees in the wild.

If they’re that much more advanced than us, it might also explain why they don’t do a more public landing, such as classically depicted in the movies, where they demand to be taken to our leader (man would *that* be a disappointment for them).

They might see us intellectually as on the same level as we see penguins. No scientist studying penguins or chimpanzees is going to walk up to a group of them and make the “take me to your leader” speech. It’s absurd. That might be the way they perceive us. Interesting to study, but nothing more.

they seem absolute in that it’s not anything of ours

Most of these kinds of things are in black programs that few actually know about and no one can talk about so all that statement means is that in some things our security might be even better than it is supposed to be.

I would like them to explain why there was over 140 unexplained sightings and no viable photographs..

Military cameras do not need high res to identify a target. They are not iPhones, which, by the way, would not work either as they are too slow to get your perfect image of an object moving at speed thousands of feet over head. Point you phone camera at a passing commercial jet at 30000 feet - see what you get.

Yep.

It's been coming out steadily for a while now (whatever "it" is). Most people are getting pretty used to hearing about this stuff.

I don't think there will ever be a BOOM moment. It'll just keep seeping out slowly until...

Right.

And given that we cannot identify these craft and are incapable of preventing their incursions into our secure airspace, our goose might be cooked anyway.

Just saying.

And if they are Chinese or Russian...our goose is cooked!

Well, if your statement were true, then the goose has been well cooked since the late 1800 when the first photo was taken. Moreover, these objects have been reported for hundreds of years - there is even a famous painting from the Middle Ages which features a saucer in the sky.

Or they might even be observing their experiment from several thousand years ago.No one will ever make me belive that all of mankind came from two humans. It just does not make any sense that of all the races in the world developed from just 2 people.

The current raft of lies from ‘the government’ are aimed at preserving the energy status quo. Imagine how shattering would be the sudden implimentation of the energy source and application of things that fly without drag, defying the laws of Physics for bodies in motion, and leave no exhaust traces? The petro economy runs the world. If zero point energy was suddenly available as an alternative, the world’s economic structuring would collapse. That is why they lie to us and will continue to do so.

Israel thought its goose was cooked when Goliath challenged them on the field of battle.

Everything has an Achilles Heel.

First, they seem absolute in that it’s not anything of ours (secret lab project, etc).

Nor would they, as it would be a secret...

Second, our technology gain in the past decade has reached a level where we can ‘see’ them and record the moment. So just having pilots say they saw them is now backed up with film/data.

The sensors track stuff on gimbals and re-center/slew/cue automatically, not as a human eye would see it. Unless both “object” and aircraft were on the same bearing and altitude, everything would appear out of this world regarding “flight profile”. IR/Thermal etc do not “see” nor do displays “depict” what the sensor “sees” in a manner suitable to discretion of the human eye. If you’ve lived under night vision for a bit, you’d get that.

Third, the Pentagon seems to say they really don’t think it’s the Russians or Chinese advancing. One statement in an interview went to the level of saying this ‘show’ was a hundred to a thousand years more advanced than what we have currently.

That’s just BS coming from BSers. How would one know what tech will be in a 100k years? Non-science and fiction filled baloney.

So the bottom line? Nothing. You can’t say it’s alien...until you down one of their vehicles.

You can’t down one, as they are appearnaces of unexplained anomalies and sensor input not images of a tangible thing. IR sees in the invisible to the human eye spectrum, therefore what is being “seen” is simply an adaption of a non-intelligble spectrum to a humanly visible interpretation.

Most of these sightings are of “round or disk” shaped imagery, like the faring of a sensors due to resolution limits or hardware characteristics, not actual imagery of an object.

Look at a cigarette lighter flame with a 3rd gen image intensifier tube unit ( PVS 14 etc) all you’ll see is a glaring flare that’s roundish or if a really good tube with very high signal to noise ratio, and high gain (80k+ times) a hexagonal image of a...flame. Looks like a space craft to me...but then again, I’ve never seen a space craft nor has anyone else, alien, I mean. Just what to ‘they” look like?

Anyways, Fermi still speaks loudly. “So, where are they?”

“And given that we cannot identify these craft and are incapable of preventing their incursions into our secure airspace, our goose might be cooked anyway.”

That’s correct. China can’t even build a decent jet engine on their own. I think the “real” sightings are unmanned probes. We are entertaining someone with our antics, like ants entertain us.

Update: Unfortunately for us, China can now build decent jet engines and no longer sources all their engines from Russia.

They also have hypersonic missiles. And high maneuverability scram jets with re-entry capability. And they have pretty good drone technology. And they appear to have successfully stolen and implemented technology for super-quiet, super-stealthy diesel electric subs that can remain fully undersea (not using snorkels) for 2-3 days. They now have three indigenously built aircraft carriers, the last being larger than the first two. They clearly have effective space technology as a recent glance of the deadlines will inform you. Their computer hackers are very effective. Oh, and you may recall they have the most military personnel in world, with the world's largest population to draw upon.

And that's the technology we know about...

It’s just easier to say “there aren’t any aliens” because there aren’t any.

Life, and certainly multi-cell life, requires more than most stars can provide. What life needs most is Time, and, most stars don’t live that long.

But we recovered a vehicle in 1947 in Roswell. So... they’re just lying again.
