Harrison Ford hurt himself rehearsing a fight scene in Indiana Jones 5, sources tell Deadline. The extent of his injury wasn’t immediately known, but it involves his shoulder. Director James Mangold will continue to shoot around him while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated. The filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks. Disney has set the Lucasfilm action thriller for a July 29, 2022 release date.
Production on Indiana Jones 5 got underway earlier this month in Pinewood and other U.K. locations. Ford stars alongside Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Thomas Kretschmann. Logan director James Mangold is taking over directing reins from Steven Spielberg, who still is serving as producer along with Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel. John Williams, who has worked on every score in the 40-year-old franchise including its iconic theme, is also returning as composer.

He’s a full 20 years older now than Sean Connery was when they shot LAST CRUSADE. Time just flies by.

The “making of” documentary for Indiana Jones 4 had Lucas, Spielberg, and Ford recalling how they all agreed, after #3, that “Jones meets aliens” would be a really bad idea … then uncomfortably paused, at the obvious evidence that it was, indeed, a bad idea.
#5 does not bode well.

Probably, the director is afraid of ‘getting cancelled’ by hobby complainers on Twitter.
WHATEVER you do, you’re going to be complained about.
Just like the Bob Dylan sang on “Rainy Day Women”
“They’ll stone you just like they said they would
They’ll stone you when you’re trying to go home,
And, they’ll stone you when you’re there all alone...”

In the last movie, they should have killed off Indiana Jones to make way for the new guy. Leonardo DiCaprio?

That was certainly the intent at the time. It was called LAST CRUSADE for a reason and ended perfectly with Indy and his dad riding off into the sunset.

Third one was good too, as it went back to the roots of the first show. 2nd was bad and 4th was aweful.
Frantic is another great show of his from back in the day.

They kicked that one around for decades. And after Schindler’s List Spielberg allegedly didn’t want to make a movie with cartoon nazis (again).
