I knew where it was going and still snickered when I read it.

At my church, we have a weekly communion service where we remember the Lord. There is no plan, no preacher etc. (That comes afterward.

Men in the church will read a scripture and maybe expound on it for a couple minutes. Others will call out a hymn.

We have two hymnbooks. One is black and is referred to as the Black book. The other is a reddish brown color. Some refer to it as the Brown songbook, other call it the Red book.

Apparently, many years ago, the had a different hymnbook that had a Red cover and some, out of habit just use Red to describe the reddish brown one.

A couple years ago, a man called out for us to sing hymn ### “from the Hymnbook Formerly Known as Red”

He got the expected heavy laughter
