Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 11 operating system has leaked online today. After screenshots were first published at Chinese site Baidu, the entire Windows 11 OS has appeared online, complete with a new user interface, Start menu, and lots more.
The new Windows 11 user interface and Start menu look very similar to what was originally found in Windows 10X. Microsoft had been simplifying Windows for dual-screen devices, before canceling this project in favor of Windows 11. Visually, the biggest changes you’ll notice can be found along the taskbar. Microsoft has centered the app icons here, cleaned up the tray area, and included a new Start button and menu.
This updated Start menu is a simplified version of what currently exists in Windows 10, without Live Tiles. It includes pinned apps, recent files, and the ability to quickly shut down or restart Windows 11 devices. It’s really a lot more simplified than what exists in Windows 10 today.
If you don’t want the app icons and Start menu centered, there’s an option to move them all back to the left-hand side. Coupled with the dark mode that’s also available, and Windows 11 starts to look like a more refined version of Windows 10 than something dramatically new.

That is basiczlly the menu I use! Easy, clean, fast. Although I add a control panel flyout to it
That’s a great point. How long before ms starts adding in subliminal woke crap into their apps? Adding in subtle messages that us white folks are scum, worthless, and need to be repentant for something we never did?
Hot dang, I’ve been awaiting a new Startup sound for ever so long.
More than anything else with this would be the Chinese connection with it.
After I replace all that shite with Classic Shell my Win 10 PCs look just like Win 7.
ping!...................
May I ask what planner you are using there? Does it work well? Been looking for one.
What is name of that ‘to do app in upper rightI NEED something like that. I do use my thunderbird calander to remind me of upcoming appointments, but I need a good to do app too right on the desktop
Will 11 let you I wonder? With the MS track record so far they might take that option away someday.
Lol! I just asked too Bob... :)
>>I wonder if Win11 will be a free upgrade.
If Windows 8 and 10 were any clue, if you do it voluntarily then it’s *”free.” If you don’t do it voluntarily they’ll attempt to trick you into doing it. If they can’t trick you into doing it then... well... that’s a nice life you got there... shame if something happened to it.
*You will be assimilated.
Lol. The o ly problem I have though is that I can write notes to myself, then forget to look at them, even wheni post them where I ‘can’t miss them. I have to literally put sticky notes on my computer screen if I want to remember something. That’s how bad I’m getting.
Yep... They were sneaking the upgrade into the security updates for awhile there.
Holy money I just figured it all out! Bill gates and ilk are demanding everyone get vaccinated, so that we will all ‘voluntaril’ accept Ms 11 when it comes out.
AHA!!!
My life has gotten busy with appointments three weeks away, and where we live in the middle of nowhere time and date have no relevance. Already missed one funeral and several doctors appointments because the date didn’t ring a bell in my head and remind me.
So I need something that will be an alert ahead of time so I can plan a trip. I wish the default clock/calendar in this Mint had that feature added to it. Click a date, add notes, and turn red when it is within a couple days to remind me.
“Oh Uh, what is red at me?”. lol
It’s a Plasma widget called, are you ready for it, ToDoList. LOL https://store.kde.org/p/1152230/
I run the Plasma desktop now that it finally works well. Always liked it for the various bells and whistles like the widgets aka Plasmoids but Plasma was buggy for years.

I can’t count how many times I’ve showed up at the health center for ‘my appointments’ o ly to be told ‘sir, your appointment isn’t for another 3 days lol
What I would need is a clock calander that flashes red when an appointment is nearing, and also can’t be dismissed until the appointment or event is over, unless I go into the settings for the event to dismiss it. I’ve accidently absent-mindedly clicked ‘dismiss event’ a few times on my thunderbird pop up alert when checking email, then I’m in toruble.
Hmm, dunno if Linux mint can run KDE stuff. I’ll give it a try though, see if ti can, thanks. I never would have guessed the name of it lol
They never even got windows 10 to operate without major problems. Especially after major updates. There is windows 10 update right now that turns my computer into a pile of junk if it is installed. Slows it to a crawl by spinning the hard drive continuously.
