Gossip over the shocking killings of two members of a family spawning multiple generations of local prosecutors has reached fever pitch, with cops yet to officially reveal a motive, suspect, or any further information about the case.

The Murdaugh family has ruled the county's legal system for decades, prosecuting nearly every criminal case in the southern part of the state.

Several family members have served as county elected prosecutors going back almost 87 years. The local community felt Paul was receiving special treatment in the boating death case due to his family's power.

Too bad this didn't happen to Ted Kennedy.

What is REALLY upsetting some people (wealthy elites) is that someone of their status actually got served justice. I am not just making a rash statement, that is exactly what is going on. The ultra rich are incensed that this kid and his mom were murdered. For THAT they are going to want justice.

A regional newspaper has excellent reporting on this story. A number of suspicious deaths linked to this family have been investigated in the past. The brother Buster's romantic interest was found dead in the middle of a road with a gaping 7.5 inch wound in the side of their head, and that case remains unsolved. The father was named in a wrongful death lawsuit after their family maid tripped and fell, then died. The alleged reckless behavior on the boat which led to the death of this lovely young woman is sadly just one potential motive for these killings. And, in spite of all these disturbing situations, the possibility remains it could have been someone whom the family prosecuted seeking revenge.
