This was back in 1991, when Poppy Bush was in office.
I suspect today, there would be repeated and aggressive attempts at intervention. The Nutritionists would not leave him alone.

This almost sounds like addictive behavior. We can become emotionally addicted to anything, any pattern or ritual.
It also sounds as if he was asking for help with that addiction (’Eating these eggs ruins my life, but I can’t help it!”). That can’t have been good for bowel function.
The eating of eggs was his way to cope with getting through another day of lonliness. I would strongly suspect this gentleman is long dead at this time.

Interesting. Serum cholesterol levels have more to do with how the body’s control mechanism is maintaining the right levels rather than how much you are consuming in your diet. In his case the body dialed down absorption and increased metabolism to maintain a steady and safe level. The important thing probably is that his diet was stable over a long period of time so his body had time to adjust to a steady state. Wonder what the levels would be if he ate say 3 eggs on one day, 17 the next.. then none for the next three days .. followed by the 24 the day after and so forth. I will bet they would be crazy high.

I love bacon and eggs but, half a can of this Chilorio scrambled with 6 eggs, peppers onions and hot sauce is my latest crave.
It's low carb.
My good American Mexican neighbor introduced me to Chata products.
It's just shredded pork with lard and spices...maybe just a few cartel enemies mixed in?

Well I eat my customary one egg daily for breakfast. I went a few days recently without my breakfast egg and I felt weaker, sluggish. I figure one daily egg won’t kill me but if it eventually does then so be it.

Consumption <> Blood Serum.

This has been known for a long time, the Feds notwithstanding.

Hasn't most of this been debunked?

The overall cholesterol number has been proven to be a poor indicator of heart health, so why are they banging on about it?

Going strong at 88?

Leave him the eff alone.
Whatever he’s doing is working.

He probably outlasted half of his doctors.

Opa drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and swam in the pool ‘til the ripe old age of 94. Died peacefully in his sleep, after a good meal, in his own home, with his family around him.

We should all have it that good

Cholesterol by itself is nonsense. There's been several studies that have shown -- once the high risk categories are removed from the sample set (smokers, obesity, sedentary lifestyles, high blood pressure, high blood sugar), that the majority of the remaining samples that died of heart disease actually had LOW cholesterol.

For one such example, see:

The Cholesterol Myths by UffeRavnskov, MD, PhD

The “experts” will say that one person being studied is meaningless, and don’t eat more than 5 eggs a week.
Never mind that. If he’s lonely, he’ll have to cut down, or find a lady who has no sense of smell.

“DIETARY cholesterol increases the plasma level of total and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol”

No it doesn’t. It’s been known it doesn’t for 50 years. This is one of those medical old-wives tales that won’t die.

Your body has a mechanism for regulating cholesterol in your blood.

1. If you don’t eat any cholesterol, your body starts making it, and will continue to make it till your blood cholesterol level is at its preferred level.

2. If you eat cholesterol, your body will reduce its production of cholesterol to bring your blood cholesterol level in line.

3. If you eat too much cholesterol, your body will stop making cholesterol and start excreting cholesterol to bring your blood cholesterol to your body’s preferred level.

Ancel Keys, the father of the lipid hypothesis, said this in the 1960’s. It’s not new science.
