Cholesterol by itself is nonsense. There's been several studies that have shown -- once the high risk categories are removed from the sample set (smokers, obesity, sedentary lifestyles, high blood pressure, high blood sugar), that the majority of the remaining samples that died of heart disease actually had
LOW cholesterol.
