They should consult with AOC she knows how it works , LOL
Tomorrow: Chipotle employees complain they can’t afford to eat at work after prices are raised.
I wonder if the lunkheads will realize that their “pay raise” doesn’t mean much when the raise is less than the rate of inflation.
Just as a comparison, what is the total employment in these fields in the big cities which have turned into ghost towns? It feels like the rest of the country is back to normal and it's the large metro areas that are below normal levels.
Owner says: If I pay you $15/hour I’ll have to fire 1/3 of you. Any volunteers?
So will expected tip percentage be lowered?
You’re getting more money in pay.
We’re paying more for the meal. Is the service better now or should my tip be the same as before the prices were hiked?
The only good thing about the coming inflationary wave is that it is going to cause wide spread dissatisfaction with the ruling Junta. It is going to wake up a lot of otherwise low information voters. The RATs will probably take us to war to get us to look the other way.
Good for Chipotle. I don’t and won’t eat there. Too much history of making their customers sick.
Surprise!
The Obama entitlement tax.
At least they have an excuse this time, there was a time where they hiked the prices because they were the industry leader and realize they could take their prices and still survive.
And their competitors in that industry likewise the price hike.
I’m pretty sure you can make a burrito with a robot.
inflation increasing (gasoline now $4.69, all restaurants hiking their prices, grocery and meat prices going up fast too
and every business wants to hire workers but cant because people make more money at home on the new welfare handouts than they can earn working
During the pandemic, the Chipotle corporate shills decided to roll out a digital order system, even when you could enter restaurants, they kept up with the system. No big whoop right? Well, to order a burrito using this system you have to give them both a phone number and an email address along with your credit card. Used to be all you needed was money, but now they want your identity. Now Chipotle wants your name, phone number, area where you shop (by virtue of the store location) and email address to do whatever they want with and all you get in return is a case of the sh$$$s. I’d bet that the marketing data value from this collected information far exceeds the extra costs that increasing worker pay had incurred.
If there was some justice in this world, the tech and corporate giants would at a minimum be compelled to pay the customers for this marketing data they take from us every day, but nope, they just get to profit from it.
I wonder how the employees that wanted the $15 an hour minimum wage law to be imposed on large and small business feel about being laid off? They must be very happy.
Our garbage pick up service has deteriorated because theycan’t find workers.
My grocery store has ads all over the stores offering $14/hour starting wage.
Thank you Biden/Kamala.
Chipotle hikes prices of its already too expensive food to cover the cost of raising wages
