I have the day off today, and had to get a few things, and I know today is Memorial Day, and I salute all those who gave their lives for this country.
Well, I got out of the car and realized that I left my mask at home.
Oh well, if anyone(Karen's) complains, the store would provide one or I could buy one.
So I walk in, about 75% of the shoppers had masks on. Got my business done and no one said a word and this is a place 6 months ago, that had a strict line and temperature checks to get in.
Nobody gave me a hard time...fellow citizens, employees, nobody. My guess (based on an exchange I had with a masked worker at a different store) is management is keeping employees muzzled not for virtue-signaling, but to proetrct them against Karen the Customer demanding to see their Vaxx bona fides etc.
[[Someone called me a Karen yesterday because I didn’t have a mask on. I told him he doesn’t understand the term.]]
Did he call you an Androphobic Misogynist for saying that?
I never participated in the “pandemic”...
Any shop that made it an issue didn’t get my business
Oklahoma never had a State Mandate, and outside of Tulsa and OKC there were plenty of businesses willing to serve maskless patrons
[[130,000 maskless fans at the Indy 500 Sunday. All having a good time.]]
The funny part was though, they officially only allowed like 40% capacity in the stands in their ongoing fear of the virus, and then crammed everyone into a couple of sections- but like you said, there won’t be any outbreaks, and everyone will be fine- but they won’t make the concoction that people in close contact in large groups aren’t getting the virus anymore-
I listened to how many times they said ‘covid, or ‘pandemic’ or virus etc- i lost count-
Have not worn a mask ever except to the VA appointment and the barber shop. If asked I would say I have COPD and that was the end of that conversation.
In MA it’s up to the store.
I saw the strangest thing this AM.
A man came into a local store where masks are no longer required. He wore no mask.
When he got OUTSIDE he put on the mask and started walking along the sidewalk.
Odd.

Do people really go around looking for Karens to say something about not wearing a mask?
Is this something like a reverse Karen (old angry man) would do?
Mighty big chip on the shoulder, do not let the hate/anger shorten your life.
You should have more important things to do in life then look for someone to say something to me in some big box store.
Shook hands with people at church Sunday.
It would sure be nice if everybody would respond with their location. A state name is good enough, but add a city if you are comfortable with that.
I passed a big milestone about ten days ago. Went hiking with our doggie on Tubbs Hill in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and didn’t see a single mask. Not at the schools, the ball fields, the sidewalks, in cars, at stores, by restaurants, or on the trails! Passed a big prom party group at the downtown resort and all the kids looks great all dressed up...and no masks!
The best mask sign I saw was at a restaurant in rural Idaho that just said “enter at your own risk.”
I think two old ladies came in with masks, everyone else was mask-free, including staff.
I am in a locked down state and haven’t worn on in two months. Today picked up a few items at Freddy’s maskless and a woman kept moving away from me at the deli counter so I kept moving towards her. These Karens think they are in a cancer ward.
Mine’s the Y which made things extra complicated since they’re somewhat under control of the city. But once the hyperactive mayor finally ended the mandate. And mine was closed until November.
Walk around without a mask wearing a shirt that’s says “Not afraid to go back to prison for any reason” . No one will give you the time of day, I promise.
South Texas, rural area, about 100 miles outside of Houston.
No mask. If ever asked, at age 66, a very serious face is put on and tone of voice is adjusted to be serious and slightly low as-if telling a secret...and say:
“Ok, I’m not supposed to tell anyone but I’m part of a control group participating in massive testing. They are investigating the premise that masks do not work against covid AND also part of a non-vaccinated control group also so all of the actual vaccine side-effects can be fully pinpointed. Please do not repeat this to anyone as it may disqualify me from the clinical trial testing.”
Here in metro Atlanta, I never wore a mask in any store I went into. Never had a problem. Wore my tightest t-shirts and just smiled back at people. Even Best Buy and Kroger, which seemed to be over the top in mask worship, gave me no problems.
This weekend, we’ve gone into several stores maskless that, a week ago, required a mask. This week, vaccinated customers are ok to be maskless. Nobody asking anything..
We are in Belvidere,N.J. and probably 65 - 75% of us have not worn a mask around town for several months. The place where I sit with friends for coffee every morning has never made us wear a mask and no one says anything to the few that do wear them. We still respect rights here.
Face Diapers are dying. I went to 2 grocery stores here in Charlotte on Friday/Saturday. 1/4 to 1/3rd of shoppers were not wearing them. I quickly took mine off. Nobody said a word. This would have been unthinkable even a couple months ago at least here in the city. I noticed on hiking trips over the last year that plenty of people outside the city didn’t bother with them but this being a little blue island in a sea of red, people did wear them here.
