The cookies from Swig and Dutchman’s, shot side-by-side, are nearly identical.

When I think of Utah local cuisine I think of the fry sauce, a mix of mayo and ketchup. That area of I-15 cuts through a corner of Arizona in a beautiful canyon. I knew a lady who would try and hold her breath for the brief ride through Arizona.

I recall a local news story about the theft of some railroad rail. It went into almost as much detail as this article. Stories that extend beyond a few paragraphs or sound bytes are hard to find. Of course there is the other extreme. This article approaches that.

Pale pink sugar cookies are a bit of a thing in Utah — a regional treat tiptoeing between the realms of dessert and snack time, particularly when paired with a fountain soda, as they often are. Sometimes served cold, sometimes not, the cookies are surprisingly hefty but rarely dry, and thick, immobile pads of rosy frosting render each one tooth-achingly sweet.

OK. I’m sold. Can we swap out Romney and replace him with a frosted sugar cookie?

I love those types of cookies but I have to walk past them at the store.
They still don't stack up to the Black and White, though, which are harder to find.
