In the last twelve months we have been ceaselessly bombarded by claims that America is a racist society in which Black people are oppressed by White people. Nothing could be further from the truth.
In the last twelve months we have been ceaselessly bombarded by claims that America is a racist society in which Black people are oppressed by White people.
This is a truly astonishing claim because nothing could be further from the truth.
You can conduct a quick reality check yourself. Despite their fervent accusations of racism, those who make them have not been able to point to a single racist law, ordinance or practice in the whole of the United States. This holds true across the spectrum: the federal, state and local levels. If the United States were indeed an institutionally racist society, you could surely find at least one law or practice in this vast nation to support your contention. But they cannot do it and that for a good reason: there aren’t any.
Please mark this well: In the whole of the United States there is not a single law or ordinance that can be identified as racist or discriminatory. There has not been one for at least five decades. Please do contemplate the implications of this.
The only “proof” of racism offered is underrepresentation in some areas and overrepresentation in others. But this situation in not due racism or discrimination. The reason why Blacks are underrepresented among neurosurgeons, for example, is the same reason they are overrepresented in the NBA, the NFL and in many areas of entertainment. It is fundamentally a matter of inclination, availability, skill and talent.

I really don’t think things should be done for, or against someone due to race. Handouts don’t help people develop skills. I will help guide a person that is trying hard in an area where I have the expertise to help and it does not matter the race. On the flip side I don’t want to waste time trying to help someone who is lazy. We are all the human race so. It is all a Marxist tactic and it should be pointed out at every opportunity.
Sensible arguments will do us no good.
The counter-argument is simple:
Black people win. Black people have done far more for white people than whites have done for blacks. Look — blacks built the pyramids, blacks invented Greek philosophy, blacks grew cotton, blacks built the entire American economy. It was built on their backs, by them, and then white people came along and took all their money.
So, you know, we owe them.
You can argument that all of that is BS, but they will not find your argument convincing.
“The only “proof” of racism offered is underrepresentation in some areas and overrepresentation in others.”
There is the real problem that African Americans have far lower incomes and much higher poverty rates. The Democrats have no understanding of economics, and thus seem intent on making the problem worse, but Trump among others had good ideas to improve things.
Amazing how blacks can build other societies yet somehow here in the us that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Faced with a choice between gratitude and resentment, like all spoiled children, they choose resentment.
It’s that simple.
It’s not that Democrats lack an understanding of economics, it’s that they have a superb understanding of politics. Resentment is the easy way in the world to manipulate people. Bribing them with tax money and favors comes in second, but not by much.
I think the primary word the author is tiptoeing around is "intelligence". There are outstanding intellects amongst people of African ancestry, but on average, most fall well to the left side of the Bell Curve. This is a fact.
But in America one can find employment dribbling a ball despite one's limitations, and God Bless.
The blacks are happily chewing the rubber bon bon given to them by their former owners, the Dems, in place of the real prosperity and mobility offered by Trump.
As always the case, the Dems offer only empty words. They wouldn’t be caught dead, working. A Party of the snake oil salesmen who have been part of humanity, forever.
Having said that, don’t interrupt the blacks while they’re getting their freak on. It’ll do you no good. They’re currently buying what the Dems are selling, and have forgotten all about Trump’s low unemployment numbers.
Not a fact, an opinion.
There has always been the argument of nature vs nurture where measurable intellect is the issue.
There has never been proof that being black, white, yellow or red has made any changes to the wrinkles in the brain.
Environment, education and surroundings have more to do with perceived intellect than anything humans are born with {or without}.
I would add if we are such a racist country then why does every famous biracial person identify as Black? O’Bama, Kamala, Mariah Carey, Halle Berry, any number of athletes all ID as Black though they have one White parent, usually the one that raised them. If Blacks are so poorly treated in this country why would you want to be Black?
Sorry, you lost me on this one. Because they’re black.... by no standard is a half black person white.
> Because they’re black.... by no standard is a half black person white. <
You kind of contradicted yourself there. A half-black person can be black, but not white?
As a side point, I think it really ought to be up to the person. I know a guy who’s half-Italian. He considers himself to be Italian (or of Italian descent, actually). Sure, why not?
Of course it would be better if none of that mattered at all. But the race baiters on the left just won’t let the topic go.
Good point.
Probably the most important article of the week.
Wish we had a “must read” section.
Same reason the park ranger tells you to not feed bears.
They associate you with food and humans become prey.
