Amen sister!
Someone offered me a free horse. Just needs to be treated for Lyme disease. Think I’ll take a pass.
Central Connecticut -
Most of our vegetables are in the ground - tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, zuccinni, carrots, radishes, spinach, lettuce, green beans.
Garlic up and almost ready to harvest (June).
Strawberries, raspberries, and gooseberries ready to pop.
Just put in another 8x4 box garden for more herbs.
Also picked up two new chickens to replace the one we lost at Easter (no, we didn't eat her, they are layin' hens. With names.)
Amen. I have been canning like crazy this week. I have most things transplanted. Still have several beds that I don’t know what will be planted. Will be glad to focus more on outdoor work this week.
Hubby is putting up siding on the “shed” and we are hoping for some dry weather to get the bobcat in too finish up the grading.
I experimented with starting and transplanting some beets, and some lettuce that had outgrown the space-didn’t eat enough as it was going along.
One garlic bed is having problems. The other seems to be ok. The bed with problems started turning yellow way before the scapes even started. When pulling them up, the stem comes loose right at the ground level.
I notice in digging, that the soil has more clay than my other raised beds, so possibly it was too wet. I finally see one of the tumeric plants has started to grow. That is such a beauty, I’d grow it just to see the beautiful leaves.
Amen!
