Pingy!................
The same USN fleet incompatibility problems that killed the PHM will kill this too.

We used to go down to the irrigation ditch when we were kids and watch the Water Skippers.
I have since learned that they could ride atop the water because of something called Surface Tension.
They were quite fast.

And can be had for the low low price of trillion dollar earmark. Looks like the JSF for the water.
Does it come with Wolf Larson for a captain?
Tops out at sea state 4?
This design might work at sea, but would fail in “brown water” (near the coast or in rivers), because of submerged obstacles, e.g. water logged timber. One good hit by a water logged tree branch could ruin one of the “propulsion units” and cripple the boat. This happened to one of the Navy’s hydrofoil boats in the 1970s and completely totaled it.
1984...
I like the craft, however, I don’t see how it’s characteristics could have prevented the Cole disaster.
Which makes me think that all thee “UFO’s” are ours. Experimental craft that test our cutting edge technologies and at the same time probably scare the crap out of our adversaries.
Wow, they invented a catamaran.
Already done. And back in 1964 yet. Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Admiral Nelson had it..
I like it. I see it as a potential coastal vehicle like the PT boats of WW2. As for sea states, the PT boats were brought to the South Pacific on larger ships.
Right now a super cool concept. Interesting if they can make a production model.
Qatar a us allie...stopped reading there.
Qatar will lend them to the PLO.
I saw a little bit of sailboat racing on TV the other day. All of the boats were out of the water like this and they could turn on a dime.
Looks rather complex. Which means up front and maintenance costs are high. Like a sports car that can’t haul lumber.
I wonder if there’ll be a drone version.
I imagine a swarm of these encircling a carrier battle group, fully automated with individual drones being retrieved, refueled and redeployed by specialty tenders.
Might also have the potential to double as autonomous search and recovery vehicles.
Way cool... fly-ash rules... Iranians drool... are these the "UFO's" we've been seeing recently?
