Mark McCloskey, the St. Louis homeowner who catapulted into national headlines last summer after video surfaced on social media showing him and his wife, Patricia, pointing guns at demonstrators (RIOTERS), is running as a Republican for US Senate in Missouri, he announced Tuesday.
(Fixed it)---didn't allow me to post from the "rational" sites!

Is this guy a Lefty who got mugged?
I think it is fine, just curious. Many of us (if we didn’t exit the womb as a conservative) have been mugged by the Left in some way or another that helped us along.
I recalled hearing he was okay with BLM and even had a sign and such, until they decided to come after his house and property.
Don’t know much about him, but has to be better than Bush League Republican Blunt.
Do not be so sure. I am sure he in reality your typical liberal Saint Louis lawyer. As a Missouri voter he will not get my vote.
He thinks being threatened qualifies him as a serious senate candidate. His wife flashed her gun as if it were a wine glass and she’s built like a pear. I’d rather vote for Christine Craft.
He needs to stop emailing me.
I thought I read that they were dems. If he wants to run for some St Louis position fine but he won’t be representing me as far as I’m concerned.
On Tucker last night he said he had always registered republican
This guy is a lawyer and lifelong Democrat and now claims he was always Republican?
He’s doing a commercial out in farmland and far away from his mansion wearing a cross and driving a tractor.
Sounds very fishy.
I had been excited about greitens running, but his resignation as governor in disgrace is troubling. I know that some of what he was charged with was bogus but not all of it. His wife divorced him over his infidelities. If his own wife can’t trust him ,how can we. Mccloskey proved his mettle; he stood up to a mob!
Hope there’s another Josh Hawley in Missouri. If he was the candidate, I’d write in Bob Cox (he is the Amtrak station manager in LaPlata, Missouri and a business owner) for Senate.
He’s a personal injury lawyer. While I don’t know about this guy in particular, many of those attorneys lean to the left.
“He’s a personal injury lawyer. While I don’t know about this guy in particular, many of those attorneys lean to the left.”
Not me! I think it’s just the bad image is due to the fact that the lefty tort lawyers who are a**h*les stand out and give all the rest a bad name.
So he quit after all charges were dropped and before the special session had finished it's findings of no wrongdoing. Seems very odd. When times are tough, quit?
Correct! Let him run for mayor and try to clean up St Louis first.
I sympathize with this couple. When 300 screaming, threatening thugs break down your gate and trespass on your property, you have a right to defend yourself.
We are from the area where this took place, and I can tell you that the mayor’s house is several blocks away. There is no way that the mob had to go through Portland Place to demonstrate at the mayor’s home. The mob just wanted to intimidate the residents and show them that leftists don’t recognize private property rights.
If true: More power to him and he is to be commended.
If not true, then he spent hos own money to live in a house that is far bigger than most of us would ever want or need. Well within his rights to do so. Though not in my taste I have no issues with his living in a 'Mansion'.
Sorry if I offended you, as I know some personal injury lawyers take on some important cases. I stand corrected!
It’s the kind of in depth analysis I have come to expect from him...../s
I have seen an article about the house renovation that was done over the 32 years that the McCloskeys have owned it.
This article was written several years ago, long before this incident.
A relative of mine bought a much smaller home in the same general area (central west end) at about the same time. They renovated it and are still living in it, but it is worth maybe 10X what they paid.
