I’ll admit, I’m not getting the “vax.” No amount of fear porn, “it’s my patriotic duty,” publicly shaming me, or telling me that “I’m protecting other people” will convince me that I should get it. Anti-Vaxxer, I believe I’m called. Many people evidently feel the same way.
Since fear, pride, shame, and concern for others didn’t work, the machine is now using the best of all human traits to coerce us to get vaccinated: Greed. Here are just a few examples to appeal to our greedier side:
The Cincinnati Reds offer discounted tickets for those who received the “vax.”
The Philly Flyers offered up free tickets to a game next year if you got vaxxed before the last game of the season.
New Orleans is offering a “one shot, one pound” event. That’s right, get your free Covid shot and a free pound of steaming crayfish.

my favorite response when a Karen is suggesting that anyone who refuses a vax is a Neanderthal....

And yet this administration allows unaccompanied minors and other illegal border crossers to be brought here by NGOs from south of the border to then be jetted all over the country with no concern of being tested let alone vaccinated.
As I recall, reports have indicated positivity rates of 10+% among those UAM attending school at the convention center in San Diego.
Something doesn’t smell right...
Doesn’t protect other people, the hope is it protects you from severe Covid in the here and now. Those vaccinated can still get sick with Covid and CAN still spread it to other people. I won’t be getting one any time soon for a variety of reasons based on my work own experience working in healthcare and seeing how random all this the public recommendations are, based on fact that the same people running the clusterf&#ck of this Covid ‘show’ that are reporting and advising on Covid, (that most of us don’t believe a word they say anymore) are the same people urging me to get it!! And my research and health care work experience tells me, for me, more information is needed that will only come with passage of time, to see a) how vax ultimately effects this pandemic’s outcomes and b) long term health implications. I also find no reason to trust an establishment pushing a new experimental technology never used before on our children who have an almost zero chance of being harmed from the virus itself but many of whom have been harmed by how it has been handled in the past 14 months. ( and if the answer is ‘because they can spread it’ - most children are asymptomatic and so again- conflicting information). That smells to me. That’s just my viewpoint for my health at this time. EVERYONE should have right to make decision for themselves and NO ONE should be threatened or called names or put down for their choices.
