Joseph Hall said he was simply trying to go back home after his workday in Portland. However, he was soon involved in an armed standoff with militant leftists who had closed off roads as part of their protests against police brutality. Hall, a 53-year-old handyman, ended up in the hospital with several broken bones and other serious injuries after the black-clad militants severely beat him up.
While driving home in his red pickup truck, a moped allegedly cut him off. Then a man with a handheld radio instructed Hall to stop his truck. Hall claims that another vehicle blocked his path, "and all of a sudden I have three or four people around me." Some members of the group dressed in all black were armed, and pointed their rifles at Hall.
Hall told The Oregonian how the situation escalated quickly:
Hall said he grabbed hold of a non-lethal handgun that can shoot hard pellets to try to get the people to clear the way and hadn't realized there was a march until people circled his truck. He said he heard a woman outside on a megaphone yelling at the crowd to let him go, but the people continued to block his truck and call him a "Nazi."

If the police won’t stop Antifa/bLM, maybe it’s time for the people to go vigilante on these bastards. Just make sure to use the three S’s. Shoot, Shovel, Shut up.
For what? This is Portland. Normal people are perfectly fine and willing to let these morons figuratively and literally shoot themselves in the foot.
I’ve lost all sympathy and understanding for anybody that still lives in that hell hole.
So, why do we have police? They certainly aren’t there to protect and serve; seem more like they are there to protect the terrorists than anything else.

Stay inside the vehicle, call the police, wait, do not display your lethal weapon, make them break in, shoot until the threat(s) ends. Repeat as necessary.
BTW, how is the protestors displaying their weapons in a threatening manner not brandishing?

Trying to figure out why he stop his truck. I notice Antifa kept him distract while other attack from the rear.
Taking an airsoft gun to a gunfight is a really bad idea.
He did not have a real gun. He had and airsoft type gun.
It isn’t difficult to get a concealed carry permit in Oregon. Hopefully he and others will learn from this. On the other hand, when Antifa can carry and conceal their face they are following the lead of the KKK. The laws exist to stop this if the DA were willing to prosecute. This is all on the DA and major Wheeler. Again, we need to learn from this and fund DAs with a backbone.
I work with people that live in Portland. They are in total denial of the situation.
