Carnival Cruise Line removes August cruises from its website except for three vessels. Most bookings are now only available from September.
Carnival Cruise Line has now removed most cruises through August, and this follows the removal on the majority of cruises through July just days ago. This will undoubtedly be a worry for booked guests, especially with more than a year of suspensions and uncertainty on resuming operations this summer.
Where Are August Cruises? The Miami-based cruise line has now removed most cruises in August except for three vessels. Currently, the Carnival website shows bookings for Carnival Breeze and Carnival Vista out of the Port of Galveston in Texas and the Carnival Horizon out of PortMiami, Florida. Only from September are more ships currently available to book
The cruise line has not released any reason why most cruises are removed through August but there is a likely reason. Carnival removed most sailings except for those same three cruise ships through July and here was the reason:
“While we evaluate the CDC’s new guidance on the resumption of cruising from the U.S., we have closed for sale all July voyages except for Carnival Horizon, Carnival Vista and Carnival Breeze. We have taken no other actions on these cruises, and will update guests and travel agents once we finalize plans for the resumption of guest operations under the new CDC guidelines. We appreciate the support and understanding of our guests and travel partners, and commit to communicating more information as quickly as possible.”
So it’s likely to be the same case for the August sailings, which are now no longer available for booking. The cruises may just be closed for new bookings are not actually canceled. However, many times now, when the cruise line removed cruises from its site, there is often a further suspension announced not long after.
With the ongoing situation between the cruise industry and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on resuming cruises, anything is possible. Cruise lines are not happy with Phases 2B and 3 released from the CDC on May 5, 2021. Those instructions cause even further restrictions and a lack of clarity which have already been called a “joke” by Florida’s Governor and “absurd” by Norwegian Cruise CEO Frank Del Rio.
It’s looking more possible that Carnival Breeze, Carnival Vista, and Carnival Horizon are the very first ships in the fleet that will restart operations this summer. With Carnival Breeze and Horizon already arriving back in Galveston, Texas, prorations have already started, including crew member vaccinations.
Carnival Horizon is a Miami-based ship, and we already know that PortMiami has commenced crew vaccinations across Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and MSC cruise ships.
Carnival Cruise Line has also extended the final payment date to May 31, 2021 to provide further confidence for guests. It means guests can request a full refund and cancel without any penalty.
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what Carnival decides doing this summer. The CDC has said it’s aiming to allow cruises by mid-summer and has been working with the cruise lines to make it happen.

Look offshore from Cape Canaveral / Cocoa Beach and you will see cruise ships anchored, just waiting, waiting, waiting. I suppose it is to avoid docking fees. It is so ridiculous that we’re worried about possible infected passengers despite all the protocols the lines have proposed, while at the same time we allow a flood of people across the Southern border without a care. Even when we know they tested positive for WuFlu!
The elites can't have the plebes enjoying leisure time resembling that of the elites time on their yachts.
While the CDC looks to have made some concessions there is the risk its a head-fake and after recalling the crews the sips will remain dormant for another few months.

When Congress failed to pass Trump’s business protection bill (businesses could not be sued if someone got Covid in their place of business), that pretty much sealed the fate for cruise lines.
CDC and Fauci must be feeling so elated with the power they have to shutdown leisure times for the non-elites like myself. My 36 past cruises with 288 days spent sailing the oceans were the most enjoyable times in my life and less costly than land vacations with similar amenities. At age 81 time is fast running out for me to go cruising. I hope our next cruise booked in mid-September does not get cancelled, but I won’t hold my breath.
You are so right the cruise industry is in Texas and Florida so they are screwing it.
And of course, once September rolls around it will be time to push it until 2022. Folks, these people REALLY want to destroy you.

The CDC can also mess with the cruise lines via Airlines bringing passengers to the USA , back from CDC selected countries and Caribbean Islands the CDC selected as covid hot spots.
That will rough up some of those cruisers who flew out of this country to get on a cruise ship and avoid the CDC regulations.
You can leave this country, but you might have some CDC hurdles to re-enter the USA- you selfish potential covid spreader.-Tom
Hopefully, they’ll be back to normal soon, even though I wouldn’t set foot on one of those floating Petri dishes. And I had that opinion BEFORE the Wuhan virus hit.

This is very crazy. De Santis is suing to get the cruises back and actually I’m disappointed that the cruise lines dont seem to be joining him.
My daughter lives in Charleston (a deep water port) where after much prissy opposition, they finally got their port and docks improved enough to accept the big cruise ships. They were in the process of revving up their new cruise facilities, they had some lines ready to come in, and then this stupidity happened.
Personally, I think this is a Dem attack on the South, since all the states seriously affected by this are South Coastal states (FL, GA, SC).

FWIW, I think 8f Cuomo and the NYS legislature can find a way to immunize residential care facilities, a way can be found to do the same for the cruise industry.
But it looks to me like neither Deep State nor the cruise industry are interested in doing that.

I would expect these cruise blog writers to have a source inside the cruise lines that would give them inside information.
The writers have to protect their sources so if they are told the cancellation letters are in the mail they should not print that, but write it in some way to protect their sources
