The sister of a San Diego woman found dead in a trash can on Tuesday morning said their family is "devastated" and can’t imagine why anyone would have hurt her.

City police on Thursday identified the body as that of Candace Morgan, 41. She was considered to be homeless.

Morgan’s sister Jeana Morgan Abughuwaleh told FOX 5 in San Diego that her sister was a "free spirit" and "beautiful" with "lots of character."

"She didn’t deserve this at all. No one deserves this kind of treatment," she said. "We’re just devastated how something like this could happen."

Or perhaps it is due to the fact that felons are being let out (started during obama’s regime)early or not prosecuted at all... And if you don’t agree with early release/non-prosecution, you are a racist, bigot, white supremacist !

Homeless? I think that may be a euphemism for “drug addicted”.

The chances are high she was also a drug-addict with mental health issues. A woman alone, with problems, on the street - its not a question of IF she is abused, or even killed, but rather, WHEN.

“The sister of a San Diego woman found dead in a trash can”

Unfortunate for the perp if caught this didn’t happen in LA because under DA George Gascón this would be considered littering.

The left will see this as a tragedy. The right will look for reasons it was avoidable. the discussion goes nowhere because she was a beautiful free spirit.

“She was considered to be homeless.”

That’s a high risk occupation.

Homeless people don’t live well. Homeless people don’t die well.

I don’t want to be mean or heartless, but was the victim trans? The chin and jaw in the picture, the bangs covering the brow...

The article does not even mention the cause of death, let alone any leads on the murderer if there was one. I hate to sound heartless but homeless people use a lot of drugs. A very sad waste of a life regardless.

The family is devastated and loved her

Yet the woman was living homeless

Lots of gaps and unanswered questions here

Absolutely, but even drug users don't typically climb into garbage cans to die. Someone stuffed her there, alive or dead.

Prayers up for her family.

It's a horrible situation to go through when a family member is long-term homeless due to drug addiction or mental health issues.

I watch a lot of true crime shows and it's stereotypical that the murdered woman is described as a "free spirit", "bubbly", "friendly", "lights up a room", "never had an enemy"...

Then the story often mentions in passing that she was living on the streets or just getting off of drugs or turned to stripping/prostitution or would stay out all night drinking at clubs, involved in an affair, etc.

I particularly love when the family says "she was a great mother. She would never leave her kids..." Oh, except when she was scoring some drugs or meeting up with a john or having a rendezvous with her lover, etc.

Not to besmirch the deceased. I don't know anything about her. But these reports always seem to portray the victim as Miss Innocense And Sunshine only to have the facts tell you otherwise.

It's almost as comical as the dead teen who was an honor student just getting their lives together while the dead body is found in the course committing of a home invasion.
