It’s not good to upset the natural balance. Nature is a lot smarter than we are.

"after Oxitec released genetically modified mosquitoes in Jacobina, Brazil, genes from the insects cropped up in local mosquito populations, hinting that the lethal gene failed to kill off some female offspring before they could mate"

“...especially as mosquito populations become resistant to pesticides over time.”

No wonder leftists so much dig Eastern religions they recite very little other than mantras their entire lives.

The claim is true if, and only if, the specific pesticide in question does not have a 100% kill rate. Even if there are individuals among a population genetically capable of surviving the application of a given pesticide, the trait that enabled them to survive has to be passed down to their progeny, and this is not guaranteed. So, parents who survived a given pesticide might not produce offspring also capable of surviving the same pesticide. So the claim, here repeated Vox Dei, isn’t as cut-and-dried as it’s almost always made out to be.

Oh, but we’re surely expected to be fearful.

BOOGA, BOOGA!!

If this goes bad, I know where 25,000 barrels of DDT are located.

All this mucking around with genomes in the wild (see covid vax, etc.) is not going to end well.

G-d will not be trifled with.
