The CIA has put out a new recruitment video featuring a 36-year-old CIA employee boasting about her cisgender, her intersectional identity, and her mental fragility. On the one hand, it may be one of the funniest things you’ll see this week. On the other hand, every one of us should be terrified that this is the kind of person working for the CIA and that this is the kind of person the CIA hopes to recruit.
The CIA’s home page proudly announces, “We are the Nation’s first line of defense. It explains that its work, “[a]s the world’s premier foreign intelligence agency…is vital to U.S. national security.” It has the responsibility to “collect and analyze foreign intelligence and conduct covert action.” When the CIA has done its job, “U.S. policymakers, including the President of the United States, make policy decisions informed by the information we provide.”

In 1953, it was involved in overthrowing Prime Minister Mosaddeq, with Ayatollah Khomeini getting his deadly payback 26 years later (and for the next 40 years). No Cuban in Florida will ever forget the CIA’s disastrous Bay of Pigs fiasco in 1963. Then there was Project MK-Ultra, the CIA’s abusive, decades-long, disastrous attempt at mind control. And of course, who could forget the way the CIA missed the whole oncoming collapse of the former Soviet Union. Whoops.
With that kind of track record, no wonder the CIA has happily embraced reinvention via today’s woke phenomenon. This isn’t your grandfather’s failed CIA anymore. This is a new, differently failing CIA, completely with young agents who have the kind of solid egos that can only come with embracing their cisgender, Millennial, intersectional, Latina, feminist, anti-patriarchal, “diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder” selves.
And no, none of that’s a joke. It’s real.

Well, I mean, you wouldn’t want to “internalize misguided patriarchal ideas” whilst trying to outmaneuver, excuse me, outpersoneuver, a stone cold killer like Putin.
No, it’s actually pretty sad. All this woman does is talk about herself. If she said anything about the CIA mission, I missed it. Likely indicative of the people Brennan filled the CIA with during his tenure.
Whatever is left of the conservative movement really needs to stop stop thinking this Woke stuff is “hysterically funny.”
OTOH, every one of us should be terrified that this "mentally fragile" person is working for the CIA
and that she is the sort the CIA hopes to recruit and be given top security clearance.
Remember these people are supposed to be protecting Americans' safety and security.......not operating self-help, identity classes.

of kooky left-wing buzzwords before boasting that she can “wax eloquent on complex legal issues” while staying true to her Latina roots.

“I am intersectional, but my existence is not a box-checking exercise. I did not sneak into the CIA, but have suffered from “impostor syndrome."

The CIA is corrupt to the bone. The saving grace is it’s incompetent and dysfunctional.
I wish it were funny. It isn’t. I’d say it was as upside-down as Alice in Wonderland; but at least some of Alice’s experiences were funny.

As I said on another thread, CIA is full of Dems and has been for decades. Given how crazy the Dems are these days, it is no surprise that this is what they consider a decent recruitment video. And it’s also a bit of propaganda in the sense that it’s designed to make the agency more popular with the general public. Hey, guys, look how ‘woke’ we are compared to those evil Russians, Iranians, blah, blah, blah.
