Single men assume women are only drawn to tall, dark and handsome dates - but according to these Australians, it's much more than good looks.

Dating coach Louanne Ward, from Perth, has prompted a discussion in her Facebook group, She Said He Said, asking female members to list the traits they find most attractive in a potential partner.

'Ladies, could men be right in thinking getting a date is harder if they aren't measuring up in the looks and height department?' she wrote in a thread.

Some are just bitter because they picked a woman who was not kind and got burned.

Happens with women too.

Observe how they behave toward other people. If they are kind you are off to a good start.

It is not the only quality but it is at the top.

If I don't take care of myself and my own personal business, I may not be in a position to see to her needs the best I can! I don't want to be told that I should keep my mouth shut because I don't do enough to see to my own needs before I go "seeing to her needs"...And then there's foreplay, if you will, and if we're not talking about an "equity" between men and women in the sack as well, then how do we decide which one gets to enjoy a double standard and which one has to tolerate it and for how long will it be allowed to go on like that?

So you say, but motivations are squirrelly things, mostly unconscious. Do you have a complete understanding of your emotions? Most people don’t. Most can’t explain why they do what they do, no matter how well they can rationalize.

What makes a woman attractive?

1. Physical fitness. It’s becoming a lost art.
2. No drama. None. Handle your stresses normally.
3. Financial aptitude and awareness. Being $30k in debt isn’t remotely attractive - even if you meet 1 & 2 above.
4. Normal conversation for long periods of time - instead of looking at their phone every time it beeps.
5. Her mom. If her mom calls her more than twice in a day - run away! That lady never cut the umbilical cord and you’ll be screwed forever with that lady hounding you daily.

Lots of females on FR are tired of being told they are a bunch of slutty, gold digging, ball busting, leaches.

So they avoid threads like this.

Same reason many men avoid higher education especially in the humanities.

Why go to where you will be abused?

Some people who come out of horrible families are decent kind people. And some people who come from decent kind families are horrible.

People are how they choose to be.

Men might be worried about women only wanting tall, dark and handsome dates, but similarly, women worry that men only want petite girls with big boobs who are 10 years younger.

I never understood this obsession with ginormous breasts, but young and petite is nice.

But seriously, folks, I'm glad I have a wonderful life partner. Dating in this day and age would be a miserable experience.

Rich is way down the list.

No rap sheet. Not a druggie or alcoholic. No tattoos, piercings or implants. Identifies as a XY 100% man and isn’t bi or whatever. A conservative. Not a bum and has a job. Is kind to animals, children and people in general. Is brave enough to protect his home and family. Follows the 10 Commandments. Is a proud American who removes his hat and never takes a knee.
