Costco paper towels. Same price as the previous several times buying them. Now with 20 fewer sheets. 140/160= .875 Inflation rate: 8.75%
Find the old rolls in store with 160 sheets and it’s effectively like buying the new sheets at 8.75% off!
good find
Dukes Mayonnaise still comes in a 32oz Jar.
My lifelong Brand Best Foods / Hellmans pissed me off when they downsized to a 30oz Jar so I tried Dukes and it’s a winner.
Same with Dial soap. The bar is now made with air whipped into it and it is shaped to use the same sized box, but with substantially less soap “so you can grasp the bar more securely”. Really? I’ll take my chances...put it back the way it was 20 years ago.
Pound of coffee now 12 oz
Remember when a can of coffee was 36oz (now 32oz), a ring of polish sausage was 16oz (now 11-13oz). Hidden inflation...
Well, if you drop the soap in some places.....
Their TP is the same. It went from 36 rolls to 30 rolls a few years ago.
My favorites are the companies trying to convince you that less is good for you.
Robert Reich & Mrs. Jeb Bush both are smaller too.
Sugar and n the Raw at Costco was 7 lb pkg now 6 lb slightly higher price. At least 16% cost increase.
Stela Artois Beer comes in 11.2 oz. Cans and Bottles.
Everyone else uses 12 oz. Cans and Bottles.
What’s up with that?
20 years ago Dial Soap had the little pull flap on the packaging which made it easy to ope up a new bar. They got rid of that convenient pull flap and now I have to tear the wrapper into little pieces to release the new bar of soap. That save them 0.001 penny per bar. But my aggravation went up 1,000X
Stella’s all fancy and stuff, so they probably figure less is more.
Safeguard Soap still has it. Each bar comes packaged in its own little cardboard box.
Less is more
If global warming nitwits wanted to make a real impact to save the environment, they’d stop with the Chicken Little crap and start complaining about the real environment evil — shrinking package sizes.
Instead of raising prices a few cents, companies create megatons of trash from people who need to buy multiple boxes of something just to make up the volume of what a single box before would provide.
European measure.
Haven’t measured, but the last batch of TP I purchased (can’t remember the brand) sure looked less wide than what we usually put on the holder.
