A reevaluation of newer evidence on ivermectin showed that it is still not recommended as a COVID-19 treatment, the Philippine Department of Health (DOH) said Wednesday as two lawmakers gear up to distribute the antiparasitic drug in Quezon City.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said a group of experts, composed of medical societies and the government’s health and regulatory agencies, found a “very low quality of evidence” on the use of ivermectin as a COVID-19 treatment.
The group found “insufficient evidence” to support the use of ivermectin on mild to moderate COVID-19 cases and also recommended against the use of the drug on severe cases, Vergeire said.
“These are all conditional recommendations because of the very low quality of evidence that are existing right now internationally,” she said in an online briefing.
"The push for a local clinical trial for ivermectin is really good so that we would have sufficient and better evidence." She added.
The DOH issued the reminder after Representatives Rodante Marcoleta and Mike Defensor said they would distribute ivermectin for free on Thursday.
Vergeire stressed that only five hospitals have been granted a compassionate special permit (CSP) to use ivermectin on COVID-19 patients.
The DOH has issued several warnings against the use of unregistered drugs amid calls to use ivermectin on COVID-19 patients.
The World Health Organization, United States Food and Drug Administration, European Medicines Agency, and even ivermectin manufacturer Merck have all advised against the use of ivermectin as a COVID-19 treatment.

Yep. Revised version :-(
Opinions are generally honest beliefs
If you’re legally in the right, don’t take it to court, just do it.

“Riddle me this: It’s “my body, my choice” when it comes to:
* Killing/aborting a baby up to the moment of birth
* Getting surgery to change one’s gender when one no longer believes he/she is a man/woman
* Getting high on marijuana for leisure in California
* Drinking until I am stone cold drunk
Yet, when it comes to taking a tablet which many reputable doctors and researchers say can cure Covid-19 and which thousands of Covid-19 sufferers swear did work ( just read post #10 above ), it is “NOT my body, NOT my choice” any longer?
Explain this logic to me.”
MomMD, I have the same questions as SeekAndFind.
Ah, gas bag and mommy doc? How good a team like that be wrong?
First of all i didn’t say you can’t take ivermectin. Be my guest - take all
you want. I merely said that posters on this thread follow the science when the agree with the studies that support their opinion and ridicule them when they don’t. That is not following the science apparently resorting to name calling is the mainstay of the “follow the science” crowd. You learn early on in science that results do not always follow what you want them to or are emotionally invested in.
Crooked from the top down. You can smell it even here.
Those two legislators might have seen this study from a Yale researcher:

there is no preponderance of evidence either way. This link says this person treated several dozen patients, hardly a randomized large scale trial. As I said take all the ivermectin you wish - bathe in it if you want. Just don’t pretend there is clear cut scientific evidence to back you up.
It’s too cheap, too available and doesn’t require massive new bureaucracies to deploy it. Total opposite of the new world order wet dream.
Of course.
You can’t have anything interfering with “vaccine” rollout.
Let's see, if you had a covid patient in the hospital in serious condition and deteriorating and they requested Ivermectin, would you prescribe Ivermectin, or just tell the patient no, there is no science behind it?
I would prescribe things on my formulary that work and are specific to covid. Ivermectin is not in either category. Of course i wouldn’t prescribe a myriad of other drugs either just because they requested them. You see you are free to take ivermectin and i am not only free but obligated to practice within the standards of medical care That’s how this works
Intellectual reply indeed. I am cut to the quick.

Right you are!
In that case, would you obey a court order to prescribe Ivermectin?
I suppose there would be no choice. Of course the court would have to obtain it - it is not carried where I practice. Nice game of what if although I realize some judge did it in New York. I wonder where the judge went to medical school. I doubt they would like me sentencing the people in their courtroom room. It is a gross overstepping of their authority.
Also in that case I would also not be responsible for the outcome- the court would be. Let the judge get sued and lose their medical license - oh wait they don’t have one.
