A law enforcement trainer who tells cops 'the best sex happens after you've killed someone' has been canceled from speaking at session for Michigan police suffering from PTSD.
Dave Grossman, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel who claims to have trained law enforcement officers in all 50 states, faced a stinging backlash after a video clip of his controversial training sessions - dubbed killology seminars - went viral recently.
In the clip, taken at a police training session, Grossman says: 'Killing is just not that big a deal.'
He goes on to say that cops can experience 'the best sex' after killing another human.
Grossman's video has outraged social media users in the wake of recent instances of police brutality in the US.
Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police executive director Robert Stevenson, told the Detroit Free Press they had canceled next month's training session after they receiving complaints about Grossman.
The training session was meant to address the affects of PTSD that some officers may face after killing someone.
Stevenson said a Michigan police officer had recently taken his own life after shooting a suspect dead in 2015.
He said the Oak Pointe Church evangelical church that was due to host the police training event had also received complaints.
The backlash to the Michigan event was kicked off by a Twitter campaign by Lucky Sparkman, executive director of a Detroit-based feminist group called Bleed Free.
She posted the email and telephone numbers of Stevenson and other members of the police union online and encouraged followers to register their disapproval.

Being the Moose beats all four.
Agreed.
I agree with your points. I can’t tell from the discussed video whether they apply, and I refuse to be manipulated into a discussion which is prejudicial about how they do.
That is my point. We are seeing far to many video clips being used to manipulate thinking. With today’s technology, we are going to see more. A critical skepticism of what you are being shown, and why, will be a healthy response.
...or be governor of New York with a pen and paper to send elderly people to their deaths in nursing homes.
You are falling into precisely the trap that the left wants you to fall into. Take a few lines from an entire lecture out of context and then demand people respond to them without that context. Don't let yourself do that.
If you are in a line of work (e.g. combat arms, beat cop in an urban area) where taking a life is something that you may have to do, and you have knowingly and rationally prepared for that grave responsibility over the course of your training, considering all of the ethics and ramifications of that responsibility in your hands, no, the actual act of you performing that act in a situation warranting it shouldn't be a "big deal." The real "big deal" is the preparation you put into one day having to make a split second decision that will potentially end a life. Mentally avoiding all of that responsibility in the hope that such a day will never come is what leads to bad decisions in the heat of the moment, regrets after the fact, PTSD, and depression. It's a major career long investment, and one not everyone is cut out for. That's the point of the "no big deal" bit.
As for the great sex line, it's the same mischaracterized out of context tactic. Grossman, in his research, interviewed hundreds of people on their experiences in the line of duty, and repeatedly that phrase kept coming up, not as a bonus, but in the terms of deep regret. Policemen who had just encountered a life altering experience by being involved in a shooting made these comments and Grossman mentioned them not to celebrate killing, but to help people rationalize the psychological effects of traumatic events. It's hardly a celebration or serial killing as it's been mischaracterized.
I could be “out of context”. Which leftists also protest when they can.
But I don’t think this was anywhere appropriate. Sounds like a very cavalier attitude.
No one who knows me would ever call me a leftist. Being RIGHT doesn’t mean we are rock-hard careless unfeeling robots.
I’ll take this any day over diversity or sexual harassment training.
Did you bite my sister once?
His other comments are just plain stupid
Yup
What do you make of what he said here?

And is this the same mentality those Loveland Colorado cops had?
The sex is better after they torture a demented old woman?
Lucky Sparkman is a Twitter activist who is a quart or two low on free helicopter rides:
She also advocated for giving America's homeless $830,000 each during the recent giveaway, and is against Space Force [apparently doesn't understand that whoever owns space owns the planet].
Just DAMN!!
I worked extensively with hundreds of combat vets throughout my career. Never met one who said they had better sex after killing someone. Usually the contrary. He may be an “effective speaker” but so was the guy on late night infomercials.
Agree with you. The context is lost with only a few statements plucked from his program.
We used to raise warriors.
We now raise wimps.
Those who have never been there will never under stand.
“Quoted as saying” is the key. He was nothing but professional in all the talks I heard. I also interacted with him several times and got none of this vibe at all.
‘the best sex happens after you’ve killed someone’
= = =
What if you just killed yourself?
In reference to the suicide comments on the thread.
