A law enforcement trainer who tells cops 'the best sex happens after you've killed someone' has been canceled from speaking at session for Michigan police suffering from PTSD.
Dave Grossman, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel who claims to have trained law enforcement officers in all 50 states, faced a stinging backlash after a video clip of his controversial training sessions - dubbed killology seminars - went viral recently.
In the clip, taken at a police training session, Grossman says: 'Killing is just not that big a deal.'
He goes on to say that cops can experience 'the best sex' after killing another human.
Grossman's video has outraged social media users in the wake of recent instances of police brutality in the US.
Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police executive director Robert Stevenson, told the Detroit Free Press they had canceled next month's training session after they receiving complaints about Grossman.
The training session was meant to address the affects of PTSD that some officers may face after killing someone.
Stevenson said a Michigan police officer had recently taken his own life after shooting a suspect dead in 2015.
He said the Oak Pointe Church evangelical church that was due to host the police training event had also received complaints.
The backlash to the Michigan event was kicked off by a Twitter campaign by Lucky Sparkman, executive director of a Detroit-based feminist group called Bleed Free.
She posted the email and telephone numbers of Stevenson and other members of the police union online and encouraged followers to register their disapproval.

Grossman is one of the most effective speakers on the effects of combat stress I have ever heard. His sheep/wolves/sheepdog analogy is right on.
is he one of them bad apples ?
‘the best sex happens after you’ve killed someone’
He does indeed sound like someone the “sheepdogs” need to keep far away from our homes.
Eh. Typical of someone who has psychology training. They make everything worse. Who do you think is convincing the cops that everyone is a criminal? The psychologists. Being criminals themselves they automatically assume everyone else is.
Sounds like a sick bastard. Sorry.
Killing is not a big deal?
Sex is so great from the rush of killing someone?
Someone investigate this guy’s relationship to unsolved serial killings.
Seriously. If you get off on killing people, don’t go get a badge and gun; get help.
I don’t think anyone should be a police officer who doesn’t view killing as a last resort in a desperate situation. They have every right to defend their lives and the lives of innocent people, but this is exactly why we have use-of-force training and de-escalation training.
Never be the sheep and never be the sheepdog*.
*The sheepdog is taken outback and shot when they are not longer useful.
Detroit-area feminist group, my ass.
People who are really effective speakers don’t talke the kind of crap he’s guoted as saying here.
It’s a PTSD class. Likely some kind of shock treatment therapy being used here and this is out of context.
That said, as a child of 80s and 90s action movies, I thought it was accepted that killing people is no big deal as long as they’re bad.
Something about sharpening the eyesight? 007
Could this be taken out of context or has Grossman changed greatly? This isn’t the attitude evident in his book.
Men seeking sex after facing death, combat, killing, is an ancient story, expressed in a thoughtless, heartless way here.
“Grossman is one of the most effective speakers on the effects of combat stress I have ever heard. His sheep/wolves/sheepdog analogy is right on.”
Agree: Debriefing is very important after a mission. He spoke to my Group at Fort Lewis. Very good training.
Sounds like he fits right in with the Biden Administration.
He’s a retired officer FWIW.
A better idea might be if Americans begin to realize that leaked video clips don’t give them an ant’s sphincter of an idea what is going on.
He’s dealing with PTSD. Maybe this is part of introductory commentary, break the ice on the subject? Who knows? I know I have no idea from this hatchet-job of a write-up.
The video of Floyd and Chauvin didn’t show Floyd shoving the drugs that killed him up his own behind. It didn’t show Floyd throwing 3 adult men out of a vehicle while handcuffed. It didn’t show the ambulance fighting its way through traffic to get there.
Wake up, America. These ChiCom, TikTok video clips CANNOT do your thinking for you.
I wants thought I was a wolf, but after a lot of thought I came to realize I’m a moose.
(once) - I just fired my phone
I’ve always said that I reserve final judgement for when all the facts are available, including where video is involved because so much can happen before the video starts or outside what the video itself captures.
But my point remains: anybody who gets off killing people should not have a badge or a gun. They should be in therapy and probably in custody. They are a danger to others. Use-of-force training is critical for police officers. De-escalation training is critical for police officers. No officer should be put in a situation where they have to risk their life or the lives of others unnecessarily because of inadequate training.
