So when everyone is collecting unemployment, and no one is working, we have runaway inflation. Money becomes paper, and toilet paper is worth more than dollars.

This is happening all over the US. No one wants to work when they can make $15-$20/hr doing absolutely nothing. We have over 600 locations nationwide and are running record OT hours right now, hourly wages are up 6% from a year ago and up 40% from 5 years and we just can’t find enough people. And the ones that do come in have very little incentive to work hard since they 1) know they will go back on UE and 2) there are 50 other jobs they can start at as well. Millions of folks, if not 8 digits, are currently out of the labor force that should be in the labor force.
My wife and have been to 4 different favorite restaurants in the past 3 months that have all shortened their hours because of this BS.
One is owned by an 80 year old lady who’s now putting in 60+ hours a week to stay in business. Waiting on tables, busing, cash register, everything.
We can’t find truck drivers where I work regardless of what the wages is. Just none available. And to add insult to injury the ones on the payroll lay out for various reasons.
We had one retire just recently who was in his mid seventy’s. Never laid out of work. They don’t make’em like him anymore.
When you offer 7.50 or if lucky 9 dollars an hour, perhaps you need to look in the mirror. Plus in October they will have plenty of workers available to give crumbs too. Good news is McDonald’s is offering a 50 dollar gift card to new applicants. So generous.
