Round 3 -- Saturday, April 10
7 strokes back. I’m hoping for a collapse by the leaders for Sunday. He’s not in it ..yet
Yeah—I was trying to remember what year Lee Elder won the Masters—thought I was having a senior moment—but nope....
“history”—bwahahahahahaha!
For this Masters Both the Golf Channel and today CBS have offered too much time to the talking heads without golf play being shown and too little time showing golf play.
I care more about seeing the players play than listening to the talking heads describe what the camera is showing, shutting off the cameras and then analyzing for themselves what we’ve seen. Then skipping many other plays as they yack, and repeating what I just described, for a couple plays, then repeat the skipping, then repeating a brief showing of play, then the yackity-yack, ad nauseum.
Then they also have so many minutes they are doing to satisfy the BLM media thugs, demonstrating and speaking on how “diverse” the PGA world is and is trying to be. I guess they think that all “white” people hated seeing Tiger and his career!!!!
Therefore, the Golf Channel can't show the play that happens during their time on the air. They have to leave that to CBS to weave it into their coverage.
It's too bad that they didn't use the rain delay to show the early holes that took place this morning. Instead, they showed a replay of Tiger Woods in 2019.

No. The Golf channel had all the play all day Thursday, all day Friday, and early in the day before CBS took over, later today.
Even when it was all Golf Channel - a high percentage of yackity yack and too little play.
So you are telling me that even when CBS had nothing going on about the tournament, the Golf Channel was restricted BY CBS on what they could show???
I can only say if what you say is true, then the PGA and The Masters Tournament officials are NUTs for approving such a restrictive agreement with CBS. I cannot imagine how CBS could have threatened them into it. Another network would have been more than willing to show the afternoon play on Saturday and Sunday even as the Golf Channel showed Thursday and Friday’s play, and Saturday mornings as well. THEY DO IT THAT WAY on most PGA tournaments!!!!!

B.S. Guess what? CBS does not OWN The Masters Tournament!!
Its owned by Augusta National, the golf course where it is held!!!!

THEY DO IT THAT WAY for most PGA tournaments!!!!! The Golf Channel shows it on Thursday and Friday, and early on Saturday & sometimes early on Sunday too. And one of the four networks (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC) shows the play on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
The difference is that CBS has been the "home" of The Masters for decades. I'm guessing (yes, guessing) that CBS has exclusive rights on the days that they broadcast, and the other networks cover what Augusta National lets them on the other days.

Chill, dude... It's only golf. !!!! aren't necessary.
Check this out: History of the Masters golf tournament on TV (1956-present).
Apparently, CBS has a special arrangement with The Masters that makes the TV coverage different from other PGA tournaments.

So Augusta National made an idiot and restrictive contract with CBS, then??
It's the most exclusive club in the country, founded by Bobby Jones in 1932. They are protective of their reputation and traditions.
-PJ
CBS covered live play starting at 10am on its streaming service, Paramount+. Paramount+ used to be called CBSSports.
We’re seeing it on our smart TV, using our daughter’s account.

Are you referring to the shows on the golf channel called “Live from the masters”? These are commentary shows. You can watch the masters on masters.com all day every day from four or five different vantage points. You can watch 1, 2, 3,or 4 different screens at a time if you want to. There’s no need to wait for CBS or ESPN.
What is shown on the Golf channel is just replay and "analysis. "
I said it was because of exclusive broadcast rights, except on days where CBS doesn't broadcast (non-subscription), that is, on Thursday and Friday.
-PJ
The Augusta Golf Club is the reason.
They won't let it be shown, regardless of channel.
They are like old fashioned girls, look and sniff but don't...
Same. Like his game.
Just to go The Masters Live. Totally free streaming.
Choose Broadcast.
And when they show a commercial just click on Featured Groups or whatever you like, then click back to Broadcast.
So click over to Featured Groups and I'm watching Rose and Zalatoris.
Really? Because The Masters is at Augusta National, not Trump International
***************************************
Gee, really?
My point went over your head. Collectively everyone in pro golf went silent when the woke crowd demanded the future major be removed from Trump International. Not a genuine freedom-loving American in the entire crowd. I could play golf all day long but I don’t miss watching it one bit. They’ve all become cookie-cutter players anyway. Not a single personality on the entire tour.
