CBS did not cover The Masters on Thursday and Friday, ESPN (ABC/Disney) did. In that setup, apparently NBC/Golf showed the play that happened in their slot, and ABC/ESPN showed the play that happened in theirs.

The difference is that CBS has been the "home" of The Masters for decades. I'm guessing (yes, guessing) that CBS has exclusive rights on the days that they broadcast, and the other networks cover what Augusta National lets them on the other days.

So Augusta National made an idiot and restrictive contract with CBS, then??

CBS covered live play starting at 10am on its streaming service, Paramount+. Paramount+ used to be called CBSSports.
We’re seeing it on our smart TV, using our daughter’s account.
