LAKE PARK, Fla. (CBS12) — Travis Rudolph, a former Florida State University football star, is facing murder charges in connection to a double-shooting in Lake Park.
The shooting happened just after midnight on Wednesday.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the shooting stemmed from a fight along N. Redwood Drive, near Northlake and U.S. 1.
The first deputies on scene found a person with gunshot wounds and a second man shot to death a short distance away in West Palm Beach.
Deputies arrested Rudolph, 25, on charges of murder and attempted murder with a firearm.
Rudolph is due in court Thursday morning.
The wide receiver made headlines around the world when he befriended a boy with autism during lunch at Montford Middle School in Tallahassee in 2016.
Rudolph previously played in the NFL for the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins.
In 2017, the sheriff's office arrested a man for the murder of Rudolph's father in a shooting at Sugar D's. Paul Senat of Lantana is facing manslaughter charges in that shooting.
Well, they don’t call ‘em the Criminoles for nuthin’.

That’s the lesson for people who find schadenfreude in other people’s situations like that - not you Gator, but those who do.
It’s only a matter of time, until one of your/their own gets caught drug dealing, etc.
Hey, when you’ve got 85 on scholarship, what’s the percentage?
Somewhere OJ is laughing ...
I remember that video. It was very touching
Sounds like at 25 his career wasn't so good either.
It’s one of the reason my interest in sports in general is waning.

——If there were real journalists, we could know and perhaps understand the rest of the story.
They would just “circle back” to it somehow being “Trump’s fault”.
