If you're someone who appreciates the phrase "I put ketchup on my ketchup," you'll be interested — and perhaps slightly horrified — to hear about the latest supply chain shortage to hit the country.

As first reported by The Wall Street Journal, ketchup packets are apparently in short supply right now, and restaurants and fast-food chains are struggling to keep up with the demand.

If you have a good recipe, and your tastebuds are good, you can adjust it on the fly...and it’s delicious! It’s very easy to make.

Maybe now the fast food franchise owners will stop their workers from dumping a dozen packets of ketchup into your drive-thru bag when you order one small fries.

I stopped ordering fast food ketchup when John Kerry married Theresa Heinz.

Ketchup packets are in short supply because every restaurant is afraid to put the ketchup bottle on the table and will provide packet if you want the tangy sauce. Probably tripled the demand for packets and the supply chain is trying to ketchup

Ketchup packets and a bottle of ketchup are two different things.

One is used in take out and the other in dine in. Take out has become the norm.

However in places were they are pathological about germs they are forcing even the dine in places to substitute single use packets of salt, pepper and ketchup. So you get a shortage.

It a a packaging issue not a supply of ketchup issue.

Besides ketchup, I put mustard and mayo on my fries.

Heresy?

My Mom used to make homemade ketchup when I was a kid. It was horrid.

That adjective applies to every other brand that is not Heinz. But I hate that horseface Kerry is married to one of the heirs.

Now Worcestershire in a tomatoe paste I whip up works for me on home fries and burgers and steaks and anything else I feel like dumping it on.

And your recipe would be...

Adjust to your taste, never the same here twice.

Walk on the wild side, experiment although massive quantities of Garlic Puree wont hurt.

Wonderful garlic tip... I buy fresh garlic and in 10 days it’s useless. Never thought about preparing it, ice cubing it and having it around for a year without preservatives. Thanks for the link.
