About 2 hours up from there along the San Andreas fault is San Juan Batista, (John the Baptist) Curiously the largest Mission in California is in the smallest town. Just beside the mission and I mean 30-50 feet away is a little creek bed - it is actually the San Andreas fault line, the mission sits just beside the earthquake fault.
Worth the visit if you have time in the San Francisco Bay area and or touring Missions. The Mission Tower was used for Hitchcock's -Vertigo.
