Reminder the J-E-T-S traded their first round pick, #6, and three 2nd round picks to move up three sports to draft Darnold. In return the J-E-T-S get back a 2nd round pick, a 4th round pick, and a 6th round pick. Thanks a lot Adam Gase.

The third overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, Darnold failed to live up to the Jets’ expectations that he would develop into a franchise quarterback. Maybe because the Jets gave him nothing to work with. At least in Carolina he'll have some tools.

I think they should also trade Sam Donaldson to the Panthers.

His biggest shortcoming was that he was a Jet. The Jets didn't realize that until it was too late. They'll do better next time I'm sure.

If Darnold was a rookie entering the NFL in this year's draft, he'd probably be taken #2, right behind Trevor Lawrence. I don't see any reason to believe that the Jets are going to do a better job of developing Zach Wilson than they have of developing Darnold.
This is part of how bad teams get bad and stay bad - throwing away draft picks for meaningless lateral moves. The smart move would have been to trade out of the #2 spot and keep Darnold and finally develop him correctly - the 49ers gave up three first rounders to move from #12 to #3. With that kind of draft capital, even a team like the Jets is likely to acquire some serious talent.

The Jets have traded Darnold to the Panthers in the latest in a series of big moves surrounding quarterbacks ... The Giants' Daniel Jones is next to go.
All fluff and no stuff ...
P.S. The Giants could have drafted Josh Allen ... dump that GM too.

Thanks a lot Adam Gase. I was telling my daughter that Adam Gase is the Tom Brady of bad coaches: he's gone to two teams and taken the 'worst coach in the league' title at both of them.
Small wonder Darnold never developed. But he's young and he has a supposed offensive genius to work with now, a guy who made Joe Burrow the most dominant QB in the NCAA perhaps ever. So maybe Darnold may yet prove to be worth what the Jets paid, just for a different team.
