Satire, Dillon says, is “an incredibly effective way of communicating truth. You’re using falsity, you’re using these made-up exaggerations of reality, to communicate about something true.” He’s fond of reciting a quote from G. K. Chesterton that “humor can get in under the door, while seriousness is still fumbling at the handle.”
In addition to ridiculing bad ideas, Dillon says, it’s also important to be able to laugh at yourself. When he first bought the website, he was pleased to find out that it was run by Calvinists because “there were a bunch of Calvinist jokes on the website — jokes that poked at Calvinists, jokes that made fun of Calvinists. . . . It was actually very refreshing.”
The ethos is, as he puts it: “If you come to the Babylon Bee, you’re gonna get made fun of, it doesn’t matter who you are.”
“In the middle of dark times,” Dillon adds, “it’s nice to be able to sit back and laugh and have a little levity.”

I suppose you’re right but it sometimes gets me how stupid it is.
Howard Cosell used to shoot off his mouth about other subjects, not just football. The idea was to get the housewives interested while the husbands were watching MNF. Now we have female sideline reporters asking how does it feel? Then there’s the female officials that they’re trying very hard to show off. Like Babylon it’s a distraction for those of us that are just into the seriousness of the event. If it brings in more fans/attention I guess you go with it. Notice how the NFL does not hire a Dr. Rachael Levine to showcase their women.
“
Dillon...points to the time that Snopes fact-checked the headline: “CNN Purchases Industrial-Sized Washing Machine to Spin News Before Publication.”
😆
I think they do a pretty good job. There stories sometimes may geta wee bit out there, but more often than not I get initially fooled before I look at the source because these days even the most absurd sounding things are totally plausible when it comes to demonrats
I find reading the Babylon Bee to be better than reading the National Review.
What I haven't been taught is that satire spends too much time paying attention to their stuff. I get that humor is among friends, but if you don't kill your enemy, you are their entertainment.
It sometimes gets me how ACCURATE it is, and PRESCIENT!..............
No matter how good the people at Babylon Bee are, they cannot compete with REALITY!................
Without the element of truth, sarcasm can’t exist.
The Babylon Bee is just news that hasn’t happened. Yet.
If the only choices were Stalin and Trump, National Review would be in favor of not voting for Trump because of his tone.
I think they’ve admitted they are having a hard time making up things that actually aren’t happening.
“...it’s also important to be able to laugh at yourself.”
Proggies/leftists can NOT laugh at themselves, nor do parody, nor meme, nor even do basic humor successfully.
They’re basically humorless, ignorant, self-absorbed whiners in great need of attention.
Joke's on you - the NFL is about as serious as WWE, complete with season-long scripted storylines and pre-arranged results.
Brady beating Mahomes became a racial sore point in the black community because it felt like a trick to them - in the post-Kaepernick era, prevailing racial narratives must be shown to win out. A pre-arranged result that makes Whitey feel good was simply unacceptable - they thought last summer's riots had bought and paid for the opposite result.
Patriots must abandon the major sports leagues at this time. The fight was lost over Kaepernick, and the field now belongs to our enemies.
It wont be “cancelled” because it can’t be. And if someone tried, they would instantly become the laughingstock of the world.
And of course, they could locate offshore in a free country and would continue on.

I want to speak to the manager!
Natan Scharansky wrote eloquently about how repressive governments like ours absolutely cannot tolerate humor directed at them.
It is lethal to them because such governments (ours for example) are built on lies and humor mocks and exposes those lies.
Our election was clearly stolen. If a late night comedians make jokes mocking the legitimacy of Biden’s “election”, they would go after him ruthlessly.
Just think how far we could get, if only we post more satire about Biden . . .
