I hit a deer on I-70 in Kansas in 1974........................in a PINTO!...............
The wheels on the bus go round round round.
The deer on the bus jumps up and down...
Does Virginia allow the anti-hunters to reduce the hunt totals? Deer hits have become a major problem all over because of reduced hunts. We call the deer Rocky Mountain Rats. Bambi will wreck your habitat given the chance.
The kids will be talking about that incident for the rest of the school year.
“Okay Class, we have spent the entire First Period talking about the
Deer jumping through the window. We all are done with that topic. Everyone needs to settle down. Is that clear?”
A guy I worked with lived out beyond suburbia, amongst the tall corn.
His oneway commute was about 50 miles, hit two or three every year.
He had a marked preference for larger, old American cars.
There were a few times of the year when he would go out of his way and take the Illinois Toll Road to avoid them.
That said, his driving time is about the same as crossing traffic-infested suburbs and housing is about half the price.
And a better class of neighbors too.
“... in a Pinto”...
Did it EXPLODE?! I had a 1979 Ford Pinto, 2 door, Green exterior, baby poop orange/brown interior. I LOVED that car but Pinto owners did worry about EXPLOSIONS! Aw.... the good times of our youth. LOL!
I am deathly afraid of hitting one on my motorcycle. A man was killed near here about a month ago by one.
We have deer here on Eglin AFB, that major highways go thru, they eat on the side of the road as cars pass by..............
The deer did not survive and the car was nearly totaled.....................
How long before the kid starts bragging about getting a lap dance from someone named Bambi?
Good thing that kid was slouched over, it may have severely injured their face/head if they were sitting up. It hit the seat with some pretty good force.
One crushed the windshield of my wife van. Another one of the herd crashed through the back quarter panel window, turned looked at my daughter, then fell outside. The guys at the firehouse next door were my concerned about roadkill venison than my wife and kids
where did the deer learn to drive?

A friend hit one, he walked away, the bike was bent and totaled.
I doubt my airhead BMW could survive such an event.
Nor my bones.
'Bought it to commute and to race at road courses. After it was no longer eligible for the racing class, I sold it to my Dad. My Dad sold it to my girlfriend.
Later, I married my girlfriend!
Still running great, sold it in 1980 to an Indian student for $1600. Revved it for him to listen to the great "race sound" of the engine's original "aluminized" muffler. 😀
He stopped by a month later, and had installed a new muffler. 😞
Driving down a 2-lane road and the deer ran in front of me a few car lengths up, the SUV coming in the opposite direction struck the deer, and the deer ricocheted off that SUV and hit the rear quarter panel of my Saab. I looked in the rear view mirror, and the deer was spinning like a top in the middle of the road.
No damage whatsoever to my car; the deer wasn't so lucky.
I had a ‘74 with the German 2L engine.................
[Hitting] deer is a major cause of highway deaths. 200/Year...
