All the media screaming about 'bizarre,' which they leveled at Gaetz, now leaves them with egg all over their faces.
Seems the media's rush to judgment on the matter of Rep. Matt Gaetz, a popular conservative Florida Republican, who was smeared in the New York Times as someone in a relationship with a 17-year-old girl, might just leave them with egg all over their faces.
Again.
There's no doubt about it, the press came down hard on Gaetz, whose defense of himself on the Tucker Carlson show, following the Times hit piece, included describing an extortion plot, was broadly ridiculed as "improbable," "QAnon" and "bizarre," "bizarre," and "bizarre." Even some on the right called it "bizarre."
Sure, if he's making it up. Turns out he wasn't.

There is absolutely no doubt the (then) 17-year old girl exists. She’s the same girl at the center of the federal indictment that has already been unsealed against Gaetz’ known associate, Joel Greenburg.

I'm not disappointed at all. I offered up my opinion that something stunk about all of this and I frankly didn't believe Gaetz. You accused me of stating "factually" that Gaetz was guilty. I did no such thing.

As stated elsewhere above, I'd hope that the Gaetz family didn't surrender the originals to the FBI because Lord knows the Federal Bureau of Incompetence can't get a single investigation right.
Further, if I were the Gaetz family, I'd make the original audio available online to anyone who wants to hear it. Put it all out there and don't let the FBI f'up another investigation. If Gaetz is telling the truth that's the best way to hold the FBI's feet to the fire and conduct a straight-up no-bullshit investigation IMO.
Let the truth lead where it may.

Keep this mind: Matt Gaetz has known he could be in some criminal peril since AT LEAST August of last year. That's when his friend was indicted on sex trafficking charges. The alleged criminal activity began as early as 2017.
If you know you're at the business and of federal investigation that has the potential to put you away for 25-years, you too might do whatever you can to build some measure of loyalty in your partisan base. It seems to be sage strategy on Gaetz' part.

Many people are of the opinion that there is an active effort by parties unknown to compromise and blackmail members of the House and Senate to get them under control
