I agree. However GOP’ers must be as they say “..like Caesar’s wife ...” above reproach if they are to maintain any effectiveness. If they don’t understand that they are too stupid to be in office.
I am tired of supporting narcisstic low self-control politicians be they GOP or anything else. If any bit of this is true I would have little enthusiasm for him. If I was in his district my only reason for voting for him would be because the Rat would be much worse.
You have to be a little crazy to get into politics. Normal people do not jump into that arena.
But this is the rub.
The Steele Dossier was paid for by Hillary Clinton and was full of lies. But they used it to slam Trump. Above reproach? Not Trump, I guess.
They tried to ruin Kavanaugh with lies from Blasey Ford. Above reproach? Not Kavanaugh, I guess.
Harry Reid told everyone that Mitt Romney didn't pay his taxes. It was a lie. Reid defended the lie (afterwards) by chuckling "We won, didn't we?"
Being above reproach doesn't get you very far. They make stuff up and they see how far they can take it. I guess being "perfect" will most likely keep someone out of jail -- but they can still ruin the political career of even a "perfect" person.
NOTE: I make no claim that Gaetz is perfect. I merely say that I care a great deal about the Extortion effort. And I'll start to care about the 17-year-old girl AFTER a court convicts Gaetz of the alleged crime. Not before. He's innocent until proven guilty. Republicans should consider approaching it that way. A little Due Process doesn't hurt.
