Sunlight Inactivates Coronavirus 8 Times Faster Than Predicted. We Need to Know Why
Science Alert ^ | 2 Apr 2021 | TESSA KOUMOUNDOUROS

A team of scientists is calling for greater research into how sunlight inactivates SARS-CoV-2 after realizing there's a glaring discrepancy between the most recent theory and experimental results...

...The researchers suspect it's possible that instead of affecting the RNA directly, long-wave UVA may be interacting with molecules in the testing medium (simulated saliva) in a way that hastens the inactivation of the virus.

Something similar is seen in wastewater treatment – where UVA reacts with other substances to create molecules that damage viruses....

Sterilize groceries? Oh, I forgot, a papaya tested positive!

Actually, IIRC, years ago our air conditioner guy installed some kind of UV sterilizer somewhere up in our ductwork.

Maybe why Florida and Texas is doing so well. Along with not keeping people locked up.

Go outside and play while wearing your masks and distancing from anyone you see. Be fearful.

I walk dogs 5 days a week, even in winter time. I attribute the fresh air and sunshine to my staying healthy this whole time.

Plus my vitamin D levels, natural vitamin D levels heading into winter months is way over the normal ranges when tested. Primary doctor told me to stop taking supplements, I smiled and said I don’t take them. Told him it is natural sunshine. Levels fall slowly over winter to normal ranges towards spring here. By then I am out in the garden getting beds ready for planting, in short sleeves!

It’s great exercise and keep the skin clean. Breaking a little sweat keeps toxins out of the body. As well as absorbing the D vitamin. My wife and I caught covid but likely from the grocery store. We had mild case and fully recovered before the 10 day quarantine was up. We went outside and got fresh air a few times a day. This morning is nice and cool. Looking forward to the likely last little cool snap before the heat wave. Lol.

We’ve had an early type spring here. Of course yesterday we had several inches of snow that should melt off by this afternoon. And the sky is blue with the sun shining bright.

Winter coat this morning, by afternoon should be just a light jacket and hat.

About 12 years ago, I went on a backpack trek in Tennessee in August. Stupid time to go for a weeklong trek. I had a brand new sleeping bag and to say it absolutely reeked at the end would be an understatement.

I don’t like to wash sleeping bags and even considered throwing it away. (it wasn’t expensive)

Instead, I opened it up and hung it on a clothesline for a day or two. The sun disinfected it and removed all of the smell.

I’ve probably used it fifty or more nights since then and never once washed it.

Sunlight truly is the best disinfectant.

Our whole government needs to be forced into the sunlight too!

cuz God

In third world countries, they put water into those small, clear drinking water bottles(500ml - 16.9 oz) and set them in the sun for a few hours to prevent diarrhea and other issues that the local water supply gives them.

If only the opposition opposed them.

Well yeah, that would help. Maybe there is little opposition?

Last year the news peeps were telling us to put on sun screen when indoors and to stay away from windows. This was in NYS.

Here in Florida it’s our last little cold snap. Beautiful out right now. Funny that yesterday was hot. Will get cold this weekend, well cold for Florida and I hear a few complaining. These will be the same people complaining in August when you have to run from one AC to the next AC.

UV and bugs has been known for decades. It is common knowledge. We just don’t educate people anymore.
