The bizarre discovery was made at Australia's first "body farm" - a facility where medical and forensic scientists can study human decomposition in action. Researchers at the Australian Facility for Taphonomic Experimental Research (AFTER) have been paying attention to corpses over long periods of time, taking snapshots every 30 minutes for more than 17 months. Much to their surprise, the researchers found a "significant" amount of movement - as if the corpse was moving of its own free will.

In before the Biden jokes.
At least it’s not zombies... Wait, this is definitely zombies!!
Last time I died I was completely unaware of the passage of time. When I woke, it was as if it was the exact moment I died.
Well, it wasn’t really death. It was “near death”. That’s what they do to you when they knock you out for surgery. that’s why the anesthesiologist gets the big bucks. He brings you to the edge but keeps you from falling off.
Usually.
“Usually.”
Hopefully. ;)
This is the difference between ONtology and OFFtology..............
The bodies are trying to get to the nearest voter registration center.
Heh. Mine did his job well. :)
Grrrr. I should go ahead and post it anyway.
Oh, yeah, he’s gonna turn the Andes into the Sierra Maestra. LOL.
Life after death: [atheist and scientist wannabee] Bill Nye says ‘overwhelming evidence’ proves there is no afterlife
LIFE after death does not exist, at least according to science communicator Bill Nye the Science Guy who thinks there is “overwhelming evidence” against the conventional idea of an afterlife.

Several years ago, I found a time-lapse video of a baby pig decomposing. Yes, there is quite a bit of movement caused by the various decay processes. The body bloats and deflates, the limbs move around when rigor mortis relaxes, and also as the tissues degrade. In the time-lapse, the body is never still. There is life in the body, the life of the billions of microorganisms that consume the tissues during the process of decomposition.
I watched the video with my son. We both found it fascinating.
The cartoon you posted has some validity in my experience. My father had very sensitive feet and one could not get their hand near them without him flinching. After he had a massive stroke and was given an electro shock to restart his heart he was in an intensive care unit for ten days before he died. I remember my mother repeatedly touching his feet and getting no response from him. She said that proved to her that he was dead and that only his body was, my words, functioning automatically without any control. He finally died after 10 days in the ICU. That was in 1968 when there were no machines to keep one alive, he was just on an IV drip.
There is no evidence either way. It is unscientific to claim there is.
It is bad luck if one is caught behind a Virginia Dept. Of Transportation utility truck during the early afternoon. The move like they are driven by zombies. However, if it is close to 4 pm and no over-time has been issued, they drive like maniacs on PCP, or on whatever they give Biden to revive him, and they clear a path to town in nothing flat.
