March 25 (UPI) -- Police in Ontario said an officer pulled over a motorcyclist whose license plate was clearly homemade -- and misspelled.
Sgt. Steve Koopman of the Kingston Police Service said patrol officers stopped a motorcycle when they noticed the vehicle's license plate didn't quite look official.
Koopman tweeted a photo of the hand-painted plate, which was marked for Ontario, but featured the slogan "Live Free or Die" from license plates issued by the U.S. state of New Hampshire. The slogan misspelled the word "free."
"We apparently have some burgeoning artists in #ygk," Koopman tweeted. "Patrol officers again snagged this beauty off of a motorcycle. Charged accordingly and given an 'A' for effort but an 'F' for spelling."
The license plate was confiscated just under two weeks after police in the same area stopped a vehicle with a similarly handmade license plate.
One of my artistic friends used to paint a new metro bus pass every week, and it worked. This was in the ‘sxties, long before copy machines.
Try Eagle 1 Metal Polish first, then Flitz. Rouge is nice but it’s slow and has issues.
Thank you for that great advice! Gotta keep Blue looking her best. :-)
You may find this hard to believe...
But I drive on a license plate that I’ve created myself. The numbers are legit but the colors match my car. I’ve also painted it using plastidip. I can peel it off when I need.
It’s an experiment that so far is working. I’ll be writing “registration is confiscation” on it someday.
As long as the registration sticker is untouched, it says the state name and the letters are visible and legit in the original font my state has no issue with it.
They’re are a lot of people in Arkansas driving around without plates whatsoever.
The police here don’t seem to care.
FOB’s........................
Once they start taxing by the mile, this could become common.
The DMV records your mileage when you renew your tags, then folds in the new tax to your renewal. The cost could double or triple your tag fees.
Sounds like something Ricky, from Trailer Park Boys, would do—although he’d talk his way out of the ticket.
When I was a kid I heard about a guy who got away with it for several years, till he got rear ended...by a cop
Or Joe Biden
Now he will have a chance to work on his license plate making skills
