BOSTON (CBS) – It’s no secret that the great white sharks return to Outer Cape Cod every summer to feast on the seals that live there and for years now, scientists have been tagging and tracking the sharks, to learn about their behavior.
Now, a consortium of scientists have compiled data that gave them some new insight into the sharks’ patterns. One aspect: the sharks come into very shallow water, and stay for a greater time than most people suspected.

This isn't the time of year that people are thinking about swimming in New England waters, but this recent video article has some input into the upcoming summer months.-Tom

It seems the Kennedys got them trained after Mary Jo’s body was left to taunt them.

“the sharks come into very shallow water, and stay for a greater time than most people suspected.”
Apparently, they don’t have anything better to do and they’re not looking for anything deep and meaningful, just some people-watching and casual dining.

Good. They can stay in Cape Cod. Unfortunately for swimmers and bathers they will spread throughout New England.
Maine is putting out about 20 shark detection buoys this coming year, after they had a fatal attack on a swimmer up there last summer, and I figure they will discover they have more white sharks than they anticipated.
Also this coming 2021 summer season about dozen shark associations are getting into the white shark action here in New England, so I expect a lot of white shark info to come out. Time will tell. -Tom
