Various entities are doing all they can to entice Americans to get the coronavirus vaccine. It's a little weird.
Close your eyes and think back to a time in which you, your kids, or any other loved one received a vaccine. Chances are, the event wasn't treated as if it was some grandiose event. No, the vaccine was simply administered, and you moved on to other things. That nonchalant, non-celebratory attitude toward vaccines was an almost universally accepted outlook for decades. However, in 2021, a new precedent seems to have been set.
Indeed, with the arrival and widespread distribution of several different coronavirus vaccines, getting the vaccine has become something of a special occasion. People gleefully post photos of themselves with their vaccine cards as if they had accomplished a spectacular feat. Birthdays, weddings, baptisms, graduations, and vacations, fine — but a vaccine? That just doesn't seem right to me.
People are being misled into believing they're virtuous and brave for taking a highly experimental vaccine that was hastily conceived and is the first mRNA vaccine ever distributed. We don't know what negative effects the vaccine will have on our bodies. We don't know if there will be side-effects or the possibility of death later on. Despite this, the media, businesses, and government officials have helped create what I call the "Cult of the Vaccine."

I’m thankful to President Trump for Op Warp Speed protecting me from ChiCom germ warfare.
Most people are today; particularly the anti-vaccine groups. They don’t remember the fear parents had about things like polio, whooping cough, etc. before the vaccine. The idea that your healthy, happy child could wind up hooked up to an iron lung or dead because a childhood illness suddenly appeared was terrifying.
Then the vaccines arrived and that fear was lifted for the first time in history. Now we have a couple generations who’ve never had to live with any of that fear, so they have the luxury to make wild claims about how vaccines don’t work when they so very clearly do.
There’s a difference between making a personal choice not to get a vaccine (for whatever reason) and making wild, crazy, nonsense claims about the Trump vaccines.
No, they aren’t poison. No, they aren’t full of mind control microchips. No, they aren’t sterilizing agents. No, they don’t have alien DNA in them. And no, they don’t turn you gay. President Trump didn’t fund poison. President Trump didn’t advocate people take sterilizing agents. As he stated, they are a safe and effective prevention tool against COVID-19 that will enable us to get the economy back on track and will save many American lives.

Agree whole-heartedly. Do I think it’s real? Yes. Do I think I’m going to die if I get 5ft 11in from someone on the street? No.
Humans fear the unknown - what’s in the dark, how is the stock market going to react to the election, will she say “Yes”, vaccine/no vaccine, you pick it, if we don’t know about it, we are anxious.

Why this unapproved, unlicensed mRNA vaccine and not the old weaken virus style vaccine?
I work from home full time. I get out to do the shopping, etc. Just waiting for Spring/Summer so I can spend weekends at my Summer place.

Trump says things because it’s the art of the deal. He’s also said McConnell, Bill Barr, Graham were good guys. He doesn’t know how the vaccines were made. He’s not a doctor or chemist or pharmacologist. He funded the military too but that doesn’t mean he knows how to build an F-35.

In the many months before there was a vaccine, doctors have been successfully treating covid patients in a variety of ways, including HCQ, Ivermectin and nebulized hydrogen peroxide. Covid is treatable unlike polio and other things.
Why do I need a vaccine for a virus that’s treatable with drugs that have been on the WHO’s list of essential drugs for decades and have been safely used for as many decades? Because the msm, big tech, big pharma, Fauxi and Biden say I need it and Trump says it’s safe?
My sister has been laying on the sofa for 3-4 days since she got the first shot because it zapped her energy. SHE’S ALREADY HAD COVID. Her husband is totally freaked out about covid and talked her into getting the vaccine even though she already had covid. Who knows what the second shot will do to her. But she MUST have the vaccine because her husband is part of the fear porn cult.
I remember that too: no swimming pools or movie houses. In fact one of the main reasons the people from my big city went to the Jersey shore was to get away from polio. Philip Roth wrote a whole novel about it how Newark families went to the shore during polio season.
And when we got the vaccine we went to a huge room, which might have been a church hall or a school gym, with many other people and there was the same kind of celebratory feeling that there is now.
There’s no point in saying this vaccine went through all the usual steps, because it did not go through long-term testing.
It had to be rushed because it was a bioweapon and the public-health emergency was dire.
If people can’t summon up the minimal public spirit that every person should have, Democrat or Republican, then they are still free to reject this vaccine, but they should not be surprised if vaccinated people only want to have social contact with other vaccinated people.

Those are exactly my points.
I was at a funeral last week and a lady had THREE masks on.
It’s criminal to test a vaccine on kids who don’t need it.
COVID is essentially harmless to kids and they have been reported to not transmit it or not transmit it easily if they do.
Drug experimentation on children is absolutely unconscionable.
Which is moronic because if a person is vaccinated, then they don't have anything to worry about from the person who isn't, do they?
Unless they are NOT immune.
But if they are vaccinated and safe/immune, then what does it matter to them if someone else isn't? It's no skin off their backs.
The American economy is being held back because state and local politicians can't figure out how to effectively respond to a disease that we know plenty about and doesn't require shutdowns/lockdowns to combat. So unless you have some way of completely changing the state and local officials - now - across the country - this is our best option to get back to normal. President Trump knew that. He told us that. And it's still true now.

HCQ was promising early on. Now we know it's only marginally effective and only if given very early on. By the time you get to the hospital, it's useless. Ivermectin is marginally effective at all. Again, early enough, it can be a useful tool. It's no miracle cure. The closest thing to a truly impactful treatment for those in a bad spot is monoclonal antibody therapy. That's the same treatment given to President Trump when he was in the hospital. There's a reason President Trump got it; it's effective. But it's not a cure. And with all that said, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The vaccines are safe and effective. That's why cases and deaths are plummeting in Israel right now.
No, that’s not true. As I just posted on another thread, because the vaccine is “only” 95 percent effective, about one in twenty times a vaccinated person comes in contact with the disease, he may become ill. The other 19 times, statistically, he will be safe from it, even if he socializes with an unvaccinated person.
So, to give a free prediction here, our society will soon divide up into those vaccinated people who are only willing to get close to other vaccinated people and those who don’t make those restrictions in their freedom of assembly.
I think more and more businesses and other workplaces and even private social gatherings will start requiring vaccination. This will continue until either the disease dies out or the statistics show that the unvaccinated are becoming isolated and putting themselves at risk. Right now, they are being protected by the vaccinated to a certain extent.
The mixing of politics with public health issues is unfortunate, as it may convince people to act against their own best interests and those of the society at large. And one can say that there is a degree of overlap of those two interests.
and it’s not even in a controlled setting. Just give them a jab and send them on their way and their mom, Karen, has a big smile on her face because she helped the cause.
As if there are no other treatments for the disease, and a person can’t become immune after having it.
The *vaccine* is NOT the only answer to this disease and is certainly no justification whatsoever for trampling on people’s rights or liberties.
As another FReeper recently said, my only responsibility towards others is to stay home while I’m sick, until I am healthy again.
If people simply did that instead of demanding their *rights*, IOW, to go out while sick and contagious, then this disease, or any other one for that matter, would not be an issue.
