Eight slain in Atlanta, now 10 in Boulder. Your town could be next. Can the nation finally do something about weapons of war on our streets?
President Joe Biden called Tuesday for Congress to move immediately to “ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.” It’s a start, though he’ll have to reach across party lines for real this time, since some Democrats are as anti-gun-control as the bulk of today’s GOP.
The New York Post does not see this as a conservative or liberal issue — it’s an issue of life and death. Curbing guns is what led to New York City’s three-decade reduction in murders. And, sadly, it’s the dismissal of that progress that has led to a rise in shootings here. Outside the city, the toll of semi-automatic weapons is a sad litany of cities and schools: Newtown, Parkland, Aurora, Las Vegas. It’s a national shame.
We called on President Donald Trump to act, and we’ll happily support Biden in a fight for the needed changes. Polls show most Americans want this. It’s the political establishment that is frozen.

New York should mind its own foreign business.
The word “try” should be in there.
Actually, weapons of war are in very few hands of the public in the U.S. The public has scary looking guns, but the are not weapons used by military warriors. Cartels, yes. Guns don’t kill, people do. Sometimes to prevent being killed, and more times than are reported, the guns in peoples hands minimize the carnage being done by people committing wanton murder.
I read today he came in under Obama’s amnesty.
The Mexican drug cartels have automatic weapons, crew served weapons and .50 cal sniper weapons. We have deer rifles and .223 semi autos. WHO are the feds going after? NOT the cartels. WHY?
The cartels are paying tribute to the DC rulers.
Why do they want us disarmed?
Think of that.
Polls can show anything in demonic-rats hands.
Gun sales show more guns than people in the USA. Record gun sales since the election show distrust for stolen elections. The deep state knows that they can not do what want without starting an all out war so they want our guns. With 350 Million guns in civilian hands and a handful of killings means a lot.
at least 5 times as many are SAVED by a responsible person with a gun.
That is what the dims want to stop.
That’s the brand of conservative politics that made Rudy Giuliani an abysmal loser when he staged his brief run for President in 2008.
CNN FWIW, “The family emigrated from Syria in 2002, the brother said. They have lived in the Arvada area since 2014.”

New York Post is now worse than National Review on this score. Indistinguishable from the Daily News.
There are probably about 20 million modern sporting rifles (AR-15, AK-47, etc.) in the hands of private residents in the U.S.A. now.

Or maybe more.
Not because of their concern for what they consider, the peons. They fear the masses coalescing to attack them, the criminal elites.
They attacked Trump for fighting the Election.
Never set anything I used to own down in the street..........
FU NY!!
The answer is still “NO!”
Repeal the 2nd Amendment or STFU.
Rapid fire, prone at 200 yards.........I used to ace that stage every time.
“Hunting and home protection are one thing — but what civilian needs an AR-15 ?”
Coven jack@$$es.
Maybe a patriot who realizes the intent of the Second Amendment is to protect We the People from government tyranny. Which is why of course, those who wish to impose tyranny are trying so damned hard to take them.
I mean 300 yards, 200 was sitting.
NY Post is Anti Second Amendment. Always has been
The only actual weapons of war I saw were the 7 armored vehicles and M-4 fully automatic assault weapons in the hands of hundreds of the law enforcement people that were there.
