COVID was a blessing for the Democrats. Primarily affecting older people (mostly Trump voters) and the infirm, it allowed the shutdown of most small business in America (again, mostly Trump-supporters). It permitted millenarian Democrat governors to test the efficacy of using fear to impel acquiescence to emergency rule by diktat. It showed people will voluntarily cede income and freedom in the face of an "existential emergency."
"Armageddon" ruined Trump-supporters financially, while coincidentally allowing Dem supporters to continue drawing a paycheck or have their fortunes grow.
The COVID social experiment in control was a smashing success. Yet, with COVID winding down, Democrats need a new apocalypse.
Fortuitously, "climate change" is perfect. Faux though its existentialism may be, as a crisis with broad support among the elite left and their minions, it is a cataclysm made to order.
Impending climate catastrophe cannot be disproved — hot weather, cold weather, drought, flooding — everything can be portrayed as "proof." The benefits promised are decades in the future. So is its inevitable failure. People will not see the scam until it is too late.
As a scheme for total control, climate change is even better than COVID.
Lockdowns proved that restricting movement and shutting down the economy will drastically reduce the CO2 released into the atmosphere.
Replacing internal combustion–powered automobiles with E.V.s is policy. Eventually, they will acknowledge the inherent pollution in battery manufacture, the production of the electricity needed to charge the batteries, and eventual battery disposal. The goal is to eliminate private transportation in its entirety.
In major cities, roadwork now entails reducing on-street parking while narrowing thoroughfares to increase traffic. This is a prelude to charging a yearly fee

Carbon offset taxes, impact fees and numerous other taxes to fund government-controlled mass transportation where travel must be approved. A leftist dream.
People used to lightly joke about the unpredictability of the weather. Now it’s used to push Democrat control and communism. Sick people.
The climate has been changing for millions of years, but the ignorant DemonRats with IQs between stupid and brain dead just discovered it and are amazed by it.

They will get a good bit more out of COVID-19. We still have variants, and the inevitable next strain, etc... to go through. They might even end up releasing something that actually kills people, though that is doubtful. They will keep climate change going in the background along with the fake alien contact thing they have brewing. Tension with both Russia and China is another obvious method. Russia and the virus will fool a good number of “conservatives”.
I think many leftists are over-estimating as to who believes the climate change crap they are trying to shove down our throats. Sure the climate changes, but they want us to think it continually gets worse & that we have to do something to change it. Of course, that “something” that would change would amount to giving over all that we own to some one who thinks they can handle it better than we do. Got news for them...our Heavenly Father already handles it better than we possibly can.

and the best thing about it for them is the fact they can convince private industry to do the enforcing, just like they did with the mask and distancing mandates...and FR stalwarts can then proclaim ‘it’s a private business; they can do whatever they want’ and go away quite contented with being forced to do whatever the businesses tell them to do...
Climate change is the perfect tool to justify complete control
CO2 is not a polutant any more than O2 or H2O are polutants. All three are necessary for life. But all three can kill you in high enough quantities. e.g. drowning.
But we don’t regulate any of them in the way we are trying to regulate CO2
To get power they have basically two routes - seize power, or get people to willingly turn over control. They cannot simply seize power in the US - too obvious and too many privately owned firearms. ("There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.")
But they can use fear and emotion to try to get people to cede control. That has been their strategy for decades now. Energy crisis, coming ice age, gun control, climate change, statues, racism, covid... Think about it for a moment - we've seen a never ending stream of "crisis" that must be addressed "right now!" someone's got to "do something!"
They tried climate change before. But it was hard to stir up much sympathy for things that may or may not happen hundreds of years in the future when people are more worried about next month's mortgage.
Now maybe covid set a precedent. Yes, climate change would be the holy grail of control - a never ending, no vaccine, don't be selfish it's for the children type crisis they could ride for decades. No-doubt they'll try to revisit or revive it as a means of gaining power. Hard to say if covid has made it easier to cow people into acceptance of loss of freedoms, or harder. Are we ready to openly rebel against leftist control?

unless you live in a sparsely populated area with minimal social interactions, the answer to that question is quite easily discerned; go out for a walk, and note the number of people wearing useless diapers over their breathing apparatus, the primary intake/exhaust mechanism of our existence...
and that’s outdoors; next, go into a populated indoor facility, and beyond any shadow of doubt, you will receive a resounding negative response to your (utterly rhetorical) question...
