Last fall, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed an executive order banning the sale of new gas-powered vehicles beginning in 2035.

At the time he made this exec order, I heard NO ONE, in the media, or any politicians, question if the governor of a state has the authority to take action to ban the sale of certain cars in his state.

I realize it’s a liberal dream to just ban gas or diesel powered vehicles, however, do we have any sort of legal process anymore? A governor of a state can just decree that a certain product will be banned in his state, and nobody says anything against that action? Nobody even files a lawsuit over whether proper legal procedures, such as having the state legislature pass legislation, is needed?

Does anyone else see the problem here, of a governor ruling by decree?

I maintain that this is all about driving up the already overinflated price of Tesla stock.

My uncle has a country place
That no one knows about
He says it used to be a farm
Before the Motor Law
And on Sundays I elude the eyes
And hop the Turbine Freight
To far outside the Wire
Where my white-haired uncle waits

Jump to the ground
As the Turbo slows to cross the borderline
Run like the wind
As excitement shivers up and down my spine
Down in his barn
My uncle preserved for me an old machine
For fifty odd years
To keep it as new has been his dearest dream

I strip away the old debris
That hides a shining car
A brilliant red Barchetta
From a better vanished time
I fire up the willing engine
Responding with a roar
Tires spitting gravel
I commit my weekly crime

Rush - Red Barchetta - 1981

Does Newsom, or anyone in authority, have any plans to overhaul and expand our electrical generating capacity, to recharge all these electric cars?

It is absurd to ban “fossil fuel” vehicles without having electrical capacity to recharge all the new electric vehicles.

California can’t provide power to all of it’s residents now. What are they going to do when 20 million vehicles are plugged in at night.

Feinstein is senile and long past her expiration date. Even if every car in the country is EV, it will have NO effect on the “climate”.

2035? 2035?!? The world is going to end several years before we get to 2035!

Expected, now that we listened to Lin Wood and gave Democrats TOTAL CONTROL of the government. Might as well get used to plugging in your cars...assuming power is around for us, and we can even afford it.

This isn’t going anywhere folks, the Left is overreaching as usual. Even liberals aren’t going to give up their cars.

It seems all the Democrats do is tear down, ban, abort, and destroy. They create nothing except misery and a lower standard of living.

If I was Biden (and I’m not because I don’t fall and I don’t hide in the basement), I’d say gas autos will be banned the day after earth gets burned by the sun... (Which will be about 1 quadrillion years from now) 😀

Brilliant Light Power’s SunCell (tm) device ought to be suitable and refined enough by then for use in a vehicle as a power source, either via a hot gas working a turbine or via direct electrical generation using MHD (implemented by Magneto Hydro Dynamic techniques by then), so I’m not worried, but outright ‘banning’ by a state or governor outside of market-driven forces is just WRONG!

Absolutely out of their freakin’ minds! No non-gas car is really developed to the extent where it could totally replace a gas car with impunity.

Better learn how to make you some
ethanol. At least if you can’t
burn it in your gas tank, you
can stay drunk enough to where
all this nonsense doesn’t matter.

Does anybody else see the connection here between between being forced into a limited travel capacity vehicle and those American Community surveys that asked how many miles you travel to work each day?
These people have every intention of herding us all into high rise apartments with walking distance of our jobs and shopping.
That so called census “survey” is central planning at it’s worst.
