Blood test could detect Alzheimer's years before symptoms, mouse study suggests

New research offers fresh hope for diagnosing Alzheimer's via a blood test, potentially years before symptoms emerge.

The memory-robbing disease has no set test, with specialists assessing suspected patients via memory analyses, mental-agility evaluations and brain scans.

The concept of an Alzheimer's blood test is not new, with past studies suggesting biomarkers circulate in a patient's blood before they show signs of the disease.

We could probably train dogs to smell/detect Alzheimer’s cases before they show up in lab tests.

Unless there is a way to prevent the disease with early detection, I’d just as soon not know myself.

Why spend your life worrying about when it’s going to happen.

It shouldn't be a detriment. Heck, some people with it get elected to president, it doesn't seem to inhibit greed for power.

Early in the pandemic I read the following quote: “Any good researcher will be able to cure cancer in mice. Curing it in humans has proven more difficult.”

I am encouraged by these tests. I am not holding my breath.
